We soon play at Preston, a small town in Blackburn.

I know a few North End fans and most are decent folk, however many do have a delusional tendency believing they are the big team of Lancashire- all I would say is take a look in your trophy cabinet, their last big ‘triumph’ being the Manx Cup back in 1925.

As for the ground ‘Dumpdale’ it is a bit like a tin of Argentinian bully beef with the top torn off: cheap, tacky and leaves a bad taste. I had a good look on goggle and came up with this vista of Dumpdale which includes the posh sports shop Sports Direct:

I did have a word with young Kate G and asked if she fancied a date at the forthcoming game, her response to the word Preston was:

However I did make her day when she as offered a trip on the Rovers Action Group ‘on the p!ss bus’ from the Brown Cow. This is not her first time on the ‘beer bus’ and I managed to capture a snap of her having pre-match cocktails at the rear of the Brown Cow prior to setting off with the lads for Rochdale last season.

As for PNE celebrity fans look no further than the World famous gay(*) Preston hairdresser Marko Tinky Winky Lawrenson. I managed to get hold of a photo from the Sunday Sport photo library that shows Marko following an all night session with a flock of sheep on a Welsh hillside:

(*) Please Note: roversfans.com apologise to any harm down to snowflakes reading this preview who are distraught with the use of the word ‘gay’.

Of course all Rovers fans will recall the wonderful headed goal by Matty Jansen to take us back to the Premiership for the second time. Along with many other Rovers fans the only tickets I could get were in the home fans sections. It did not stop us celebrating albeit I got thrown out (the only time this has ever happened to me) only to walk around the outside of th ground and get in with the boisterous Rovers following. I love this photo......

Since then the locals have taken to smoking marijuana to help them face watching their team, they even have warning signs around the ground!!!

As for the game I can see a Rovers win, lots of upset and tearful locals, and a punch up on the 152 bus home.

COYB.

Finally shook off Bolton that night didn't we? Despite Jon Macken striking our post late on we prevailed to win 0-1 and effectively won two Lancs derbys on the same night! Great trip home to the pub that was. Alf's dosh and the excellent Louis Saha had taken Fulham to the top but overall I believe that we had the most talented squad in the Division. That promotion campaign was very similar to last seasons where after a less than convincing start to the season the rovers challenged at the top to ensure that the final months was any 2 from 3 teams for promotion.

So..... Despite their less than auspicious start to the season PNE are pretty solid at home having won just 1 point less then the rovers in the previous 8 fixtures. In fact they haven't lost a match at all since a 2-3 home defeat to WBA in late Sept and more food for thought is that in 8 home fixtures PNE have scored exactly double the Rovers total with 16 for PNE and 8 for the Rovers. Given that the rovers have been pretty solid away from home (the uncharacteristic (I hope) horrors of Bristol and Swansea apart) this match is difficult to second guess and especially as a derby day atmosphere usually serves to spur teams on and level any playing field and PNE would just love to turn us over. Again we need to be properly mentally prepared to guard against possible complacency.
2-2

I don't know why but I can never take PNE seriously. Rovers to win 1 nil. If only we had Matty Jansen back to score the goal again.

2-2 draw I think.
Oh and that second photo of Kate the goddess
Does anybody know her email address? We could ask her to be the Roversfans.com official pin up and see if she would send us some signed photographs. Just a thought.

After looking at this picture for the 87th time I seem to be reminded to some degree of Alan B’Stards wife, who would also get one so to speak.

I'd hazard a guess that that's not the first glass of pink fizz for Kate.

Some buggers got a devious plan I'd wager.

A word of caution which you might pass on BB........
