I know you think so Abs. but I don't agree. He may make a lot of tackles but I never see him do anything positive with the ball when he get's it. We obviously see him differently.
And if he didnt make tackles al , then where would we be ?
Where would we be without the atkos ? The battys ? The flitcrofts ? The savs?
What would your formation be that is better than 5 points off top ? 0_0_10?

As you say there is always room for improvement and would you not agree that Reed is a better central midfielder than Evans and is wasted on the wing because he is just not a winger. That would therefore be an improvement and make room for a proper wide man instead of a square peg. Do you not want to improve the team? I do!
We are doing OK but could do better.
Doing ok ? Really I think this squad under the venkyscum is doing bloody fantastic

I'm convinced we are nearly there and just one more talented player with a younger Graham up front could put us into the play offs
We'd better get on ebay and look out for a used TARDIS then!

Indeed it is.
BUT .... forget the past for a minute but the fact remains that Mowbray has used venky money to put that squad together and fund the associated salaries. Kick em out and we'd be left with the likes of Nyambe, Downing, Smallwood, Travis and a raft of youth team players to face Rotherham next Sat.

Reed is just as capable of making tackles if not more so and he retains the ball and doesn't give it straight back. Difference is Reed is much more of an all round player. He has attacking instincts whilst Evans does not. I've explained what change I would like to see and it's nowhere near your sarcastic 0-0-10. If that's the way you choose to have a discussion then I'd rather you didn't bother.

Lighten up it wasnt sarcastic . It was a genuine question ,you want to drop arguably our best player this season as 5 points off top aint good enough for you and as gord says you propose time travel .Did you slate atko ?

The point is that I do not consider him anywhere near our best player. Never have, never will. I've said we are doing OK but I still think we can be better and I have suggested how. You don't agree with me and that is your opinion. Fair enough but it's not mine. Would you like a tardis to bring Atko back because that's what it would take?

I fully agree. I also believe Reed is wasted on the right. Maybe as I said in my summary of the QPR match Evans just had a poor enough match for Reed to take over in the middle and then we can start with Palmer / Rothwell out wide with Armstrong switching to suit. That situation also could free Armstrong up to play in Dack's position should Dack's fitness or form require it.

btw to clear up earlier postings I don't see Reed as a 'flair' player, but I do see him as our best central midfielder by some distance. He MUST replace Evans / Smallwood somewhere along the line. Not only that (and I'm not holding my breath on a player with a suspect temperament) but I'm expecting Rodwell to become No 1 partner him before the season's out. Once he has learned and accepted Mowbray's Blackburn way of playing and applying oneself. Form being temporary, class being permanent. Those two in terms of ability are a street in front of Smallwood and Evans. btw Smallwood and Reed from what I see clearly in front of the other two in 'heart' and Smallwood in particular would tackle a runaway train for the cause, and that counts for a lot in my book. It all makes for a nice conundrum for Mowbray to solve.

Indeed that's fair do's but he does not deserve dropping because 5 points off top isn't good enough.

That's been a squad effort and not any one individual. Evans is just part of that squad.

He deserves dropping because he had a poor game by anyone's standards. To continue with him will send out a bad / negative message to the other players and Reed, Rodwell and Rothwell in particular. Top footballers are competitive and have a ruthless streak.... it's why they get to the top. So how would you feel after a number of rave reports not to be selected in your best position when the chap with that jersey has run into some poor form. Lets be honest Abbey from what I have seen if both are in top form Reed is the better option.

However on the flip side it does seem that Mowbray tends to follow the old 'don't change a winning team' but as proven with the match at WBA after the Swansea capitulation he will swing the axe after a poor performance.

I have never been Corry’s greatest fan but to be fair he has had an excellent season with the odd exception; indeed has probably been more consistent than Bradley ‘Golden Balls’ Dack who has had a few stinkers on the trot ever since his head was turned by Spurs.

What I cannot understand is where did he get that forename from!! Was it after Corinthian the Greek warrior or do his parents have a love in with Coronation Street?

Would you drop messi ( not comparing before anyone says) if he had ONE bad game. Evans has been a rock this season , if I was playing reed id have him next to evans.

Agree , one bad game shouldn’t automatically lead to being dropped . Evans has been one of the rocks in this team of warriors . His suspension is a blow , but Smallwood and Reed will be motivated to perform in the engine room , knowing Evans is ready to return after Rotherham .

There must be something in this as both you and Abbey think that Evans has been brilliant this season well I'm not saying I know better than anyone else but I just don't see it. I rarely notice that he is on the field and never have been a fan. Please don't say "haters gonna hate" I don't hate him I just don't rate him. Sorry but that's how I see him.
