I wish we had some of Hughes’ s bully boys . I’m sure if we had , we wouldn’t hear half as much spiel from PNE’s players or fans . We’ve become the division’s soft touch and the opposition know it .

In every successful amateur team I played in , both in school and the Accrington Combination, we had two or three ‘ psychos’ , or ‘ characters ‘ ( choose your own description) , who not only sorted out the opposition but scared the sh^* out of their own team mates , if we ever gave anything less than 100% .

I'm sorry but this is the second interview with ToMo I've read recently that I cannot agree with.
"We are playing against better players" - not always, we have recently been beaten by Reading and Rotherham who have been the whipping boys for most teams in this division.
It's eight matches since we kept a clean sheet, so what are we working on?
Yes, Lenihan has been out injured but we let Downing go in January, knowing that it would leave us exposed if one or two injuries came along.
Perhaps recruitment didn't go as planned in January but this team should be good enough to adapt to a system that focuses on being hard to beat and, based on where we are right now, that is what we need to do.

Interviewer should have asked why have the recent bad results been against teams lower than us. Can only be motivation surely?

Personally I see it as we've a good squad BUT ...
a. buying too many 'samey' players in the summer.
b. Not looking to address the right back and CH spots properly.
c. Poor coaching in running then clock down and seeing games out from winning positions.
d. Taking too long to get the ball into the mixer. D&G have had a lean spell recently and much of it imo is down to telegraphing intent by our supply line. Don't look up to cross a ball for starters, every player knows where the front and back posts are and where the penalty spot is without needing to look up! Good quick service which he new was coming made a name for Shearer for goodness sake. It isn't rocket science. it isn't even new! I seem to recall that the same comments were made about Chelsea's over elaboration yesterday by Green and Grayson on Radio 5.

In fairness to McLeish if Mulgrew plays on Saturday at Sheffield then he must be fit for international selection. I fully expect Mowbray to leave him at home.

However it appears that Mulgrew has made this initial decision and not the medical staff at Brockhall. McLeish / Scotland need reminding to go through the proper channels before making statements to the press as they did yesterday.

This explains the skewed situation regarding injuries to players suffered on international duty and it isn't good for clubs given that next weeks match is simply a qualifier for the Euros. It seems that the clubs of any players injured would be entitled to no compensation should players pick up injuries! Only the final stages of the tournaments would benefit from such..... and that isn't ever very likely for the Scottish FA to bother about is it? https://www.inbrief.co.uk/football-law/international-game-injuries/

Now now boy hope your no slaging off the Scottish team/fa and or manager!!!! We need all the players we can get as the English fa find ways of getting every player to have English history in the family.....
So onto mulgrew if he is fit he plays and if not he won't... and the medical staff at Blackburn will have been talking the the Scotland staff and he will have been cleared or he wouldn't be going would he

Just been reading a bit of a schoolboy thing with Amari Bell (carn't be arsed with the double i) being subject to a Q&A session on the Rovers site. Rubbish stuff in the main (surprise surprise he's a brummie but also a Plastic Manc) but one bit that did catch my eye though is the question of who is the fastest in the squad. Mainly because I've wondered this myself when I've watched Rothwell and Armstrong play. Bell said it's between four of them, Armstrong, Bell, Rothwell and Samuel with in his opinion the quickest of the lot being Joe Rothwell!
Of course there is two types of 'quick' here, quick over 5-10 yards needed for football of quickest over the length of the pitch. I'd say Armstrong might have the edge on the short distance with his kick and run approach but watching Rothwell move forward at speed and taking the ball with him is a joy to watch imo. He just eats up the ground. I find it almost criminal that he's had such little time on the pitch this season.

That is not something to be dismissed so easily. Coming to watch BRFC from Norway must be massively costly and puts to shame the supporters who whinge at the price of ST's / Matchday tickets / Cup matches etc. Even more so given that a neet aht in Blackburn is absolutely dire.
