EXCLUSIVE: Man Utd, Liverpool leading big six in battle for Blackburn forward

Yesterday at 12:28 pm - The Premier League's top-six are in a huge battle to sign young Blackburn forward Vilius Piliukaitis, we can exclusively reveal. The 17-year-old joined Rovers in the summer from the Lithuanian National Football Academy, but it was only an initial loan with Blackburn holding an option to sign him. However, such have been the performances of Piliukaitis – Rovers now face a battle to keep hold of t...

I take the point and yes I would probably sign for Liverpool given a choice (Never for Manchester United) but that article states that Rovers hold an option to sign him so I hope that it holds some water even if it's only a discovery fee.
I know a big club would be very attractive and lucrative for a young lad but how many youngsters make the first team. They just get sold on for a couple of million whilst the big club buys a ready made player. The agent won't think about that though. They'll just want the Euros in their sticky, grabbing mitts. You might gather that I have little time for parasitic agents.

Well in fairness football is a risky business. Serious injuries can happen any time so it's best to get them on the most lucrative contract possible asap.

I don't have a problem with the player maximising his salary, It's the parasitic agent's ridiculous fees that irritate me and whom is required to pay it.

Option? I hope they have and I hope that they do ........ but if you were him (and his agent) would you now sign for rovers?
Yes I would sign for rovers and tell my agent to tell the other clubs to stick it up there ass and ill see them in a year or two in the prem with rovers!!! Or ....... He can take the money and sign with a big club and sit on the bench

The question is, has someone seen him play? Is he outstanding in the under-18/youth team?

"They made a positive start on a cold day at Aldershot, pressing intensely and tackling hard, using their extra physicality to take control of proceedings early on."

Same old, same old with Chelsea innit?
Rather surprised the writer didn't sneak "dirty nowven barstards" in somewhere.

That's prob an injustice as it is a well written and well presented report. Do we do similar?

More..... "Yet Rovers quickly found solutions to stem the Chelsea momentum, congesting the middle of the pitch and working hard without the ball." That's something the first team coach and players might take note of. There is more graft and team effort required to defend a lead than take it imo.

A superb result against a team which surely has cost a lot to put together even at youth level and of which I'd imagine great things are expected of. Well done lads!

I watched the reverse fixture earlier in the season and Chelsea bossed it.
So well done to Johnson and his team for working out a way to beat them

Damian Johnson must be catching the eye of one or two people in the game. His achievements in ‘ reserve team ‘ football continue to impress .
