Rovers v Millwall forecasts

Lots of hard work and no issues defensively but we could play all day and never score. We arent going to win games like this and will go down. I know we had to tighten up, but we've gone too far and now no longer offer a goal threat.

With Leeds, Leicester, Southampton and Ipswich still to play this match is more important than the players seem to think!

First feckin' shot and 1 down. TYPICAL!

Am I being a bit harsh but it looked like that went straight in the middle of the goal as the keeper went down.

Garrett and Dolan off for siggurdson and ayari.
The logic of that escapes me.
Oh wait! 1-1 szmodics assist Sigurdsson. It reads well but it didn't happen as well as it reads ...apart from sammys finish.

Thank fuck for that. It's normally us gifting the goals . . . . .

Almost 2 down just before . . . The worm has turned . . . again.

" Youre not fit to referee" aimed at Jeremy Simpson. ..... I knew that 80 mins ago!

That sucked!

The only good news is that Millwall came for a point and didn't threaten too much otherwise they probably would have won.

A good opportunity for three points against a poor side goes begging. We always looked the more likely, but never created a clear-cut chance other than our equaliser. Disappointing result, but I thought we were solid, overall.

Wahlstedt
Crap. Villain of the Match. Had nothing to do, and when he did, a scuffed shot down the centre from the Dingle, Obafemi, was met with a weak palm. This guy started off as a striker, and he seems to be stealing a living as the worst 'keeper I've seen at Rovers, despite his young age. Jake Kean was better. When is Pears back?

Brittain
Probably our best player in the first half. Offered an attacking outlet down the right, and was neat and tidy on the ball.

Hyam
Solid enough. Didn't do anything wrong.

McFadzean
Solid, and did well at sweeping, but felt as though he wasn't required as part of a back three in a game like this.

Wharton
Another decent showing, defensively. Woeful when punting the ball forward. Please stop doing that!

Pickering
Didn't offer a threat going forward in the same way Chrisene does. Was totally lost when asked to play at right wing-back.

Garrett
Best midfielder for us until substituted. Tackled well, passed well. Did OK.

Buckley
Awful first half. None of his passes worked. Didn't get stuck in. Did better in the second-half when we were looking for goals and he had more time and space to pass.

Dolan
Ineffective. Worked hard, but to no avail, and didn't do well when he was on the ball.

Szmodics
Man of the Match, but only for a good finish for our equaliser. Otherwise I thought his touch let him down.

Gallagher
Poor. Gave away cheap free-kicks, and didn't get into decent positions at any point in the game. Looked lethargic, although I don't think it helps that he seemed to be out wide for most of the game.

As for the subs...

Ayari
Another good showing. Looked confident, wasn't afraid to shoot, and played some good passes to put us on the front foot.

Chrisene
Offered a threat down the flank. A good showing, although got his feet in a muddle on a couple of occasions when it was simpler not to. We could do with his attacking threat because we're lacking it elsewhere.

Markanday
Spritely and a nuisance going forward. Feel as though he's starting to finally fight for a regular starting spot. We need whatever creativity he has because there isn't much elsewhere.

Sigurdsson
Got the assist for Szmodics' goal, but thought he was otherwise average to poor. Not many passes worked. Got a couple of forays down the wings, but didn't offer much else.

Overall, it's a disappointing result. We needed a win, and we sure as hell need one against Plymouth, now. Structurally, we were sound, only for a bit of bad luck and a crap goalkeeping error caused us to concede, but I don't think we need three at the back against a team like Millwall at home. We could have been more adventurous and got the win against this lot. Eustace's first big mistake in my opinion.

A far cry from the days of JDT pre Xmas. This manager and his style needs disposing of this week. No wonder Ewood looks empty.
Correction ..... JDT pre November until andersson the Swedish manager buggerd off. Since then JDT has been trying to get out of his contract.

Can't blame the chap. Shit show and constantly fed lies, who'd want to work under that unless you were desperate?

As it was just a couple of clicks I switched over to see the last 20 minutes of the Ipswich Bristol City game.

I can hardly remember the last time I saw a similar exciting league win at Ewood. 🤔 Must have been a while ago . . .

Anyone?

Gallagher playing like his contract for next season is all sorted.😡
A blind man can see he is not fully fit and has been rushed back as we need him. I know you are entitled to your opinion but your constant sniping at Sam now Brereton has left is pretty poor. At least he tries.
