Sigurdsson and Ayari should have been substituted. Very strange move by the boss.

Good news and bad news from elsewhere.

Stoke 1 up at Nob End BUT Softies QPR losing at home to Boro.

No End just equalised as I typed.

Looking good . . especially if we can hold out - preferably with another goal on the break.

Though Stoke have taken the lead at Nob End.

The plastic fans probably celebrated as much as their scabby equaliser off Hyam last season at Ewood.

Poor, really. We've got some tough games coming up. Millwall and Plymouth at home should have seen us four points better off than we are. Draws weren't good enough, even if we're three points safe with a favourable goal difference.

We started off brilliantly in the first ten minutes, and that was about it. Plymouth could have been 3-1 up by half-time but for some luck on our part. Sigurdsson really should have had us two goals to the good by then but for a bizarre placed shot onto the outside of the post.

Breathing a sigh of relief at drawing by the end says it all. We are going to have to come up with a surprise result or two to stay up, I think.

Wahlstedt
Solid enough when called upon in terms of handling. Awful distribution throughout. Didn't strike me with confidence whatsoever. Neither communicated nor commanded when required.

Brittain
Did well going forward. Not bad, defensively. Probably one of his better games for us.

Hyam
Quietly solid.

Wharton
Defensively solid. Long balls forward awful as usual. Please give it to Hyam or even McFadzean if you're thinking about looking for a key pass over the top.

McFadzean
Read the game well and covered our lines. Cannot believe Eustace kept him on duty against Hardie who had the legs on him all day long and ultimately led to a red card. Poor management in my opinion. Should have had Wharton or Hyam man-marking him.

Pickering
Solid and did well in the second half to clear a dangerous low cross.

Buckley
Played some nice passes. Not great defensively and got outdone a few times. Can understand why Eustace took him off after we went down to ten men.

Ayari
Man of the Match. Lovely assist for Szmodics, and was our main source of creativity and key passes. Also got stuck in when required.

Szmodics
Great finish for our goal. Feel as though he's on a higher plane than some of our other players.

Sigurdsson
Best game for months. Worked hard to close down, but needs to put in some more on that. Should have had us 2-0 up after we rode our luck in the first half, which could have had us sitting here two points better off.

Gallagher
Starting to look somewhat disinterested, yet he's probably more valued in a Eustace side than he was in a Tomasson side. Flicked-on headers went nowhere.

As for the subs...

Garrett
Dreadful. Nothing stuck. Looked unfit and didn't run back enough.

Dolan
Dreadful. Nothing stuck. But ran around more than Garrett.

Hedges
Felt like a desperate move to have him on the bench as it didn't sound like he was anywhere near fit. Anonymous when he came on.

Weird game.

Even with 11 v 11 they missed some proper sitters. Though Siggy's guilt edge miss was probably the worst of the lot - the game changing moment really.

Good point in the end considering we were down to ten men for most of the 2nd half. Dumb sending off though - that Hardie guy was having a Chris Brown and would not have scored in a month of Sundays.

If West Brom beat Hudds tomorrow this might end up not being such a bad weekend after all considering we gained a point on Sheff Weds, QPR and Big Club. All still to play for . . . . . .

This is really painful watching on from afar!
I wish I could see the team play under JE. I don’t understand how we’ve gone from an exciting attacking approach to one where goals are as rare as hens teeth.
I know Adam has gone but it’s more than that.
Is the manager inept or negative not to lose or is it the injuries to key players that have derailed us.
Eustace galvanised Birmingham so I don’t know why he’s struggling here.

What IF our Icelandic god of player would have scored instead of missing an golden opportunity? What IF McFadzean could have kept his hands off their player as a last man?
Two winnable games which both ended up in two draws. Very disappointing results. I think the midfield is very weak at the moment and I don't agree with goozburgers assessment of Ayari or Buckley. Both were good as long as we had the game in our hands and that was approx 10-15 mins but after that is was Plymouth show and they were always a step ahead of us, first on the ball and so on. The lack of decent signings from the last transfer window and injuries are really shining through at the moment. Hopefully we can turn this around somehow....
