Time for some marks.

Wahlstedt 6
Needs to be moved on to a club with a wider pitch! Guilty imo of not having commication with the defenders. Did save our bacon with some decent saves.

Brittain 5
Up against a dangerous winger (Miller) in fairness but when in possession did little with the ball and even turned what should have been a match winning breakaway into a tame give away. If anything showed a lack of confidence this was it.

Hyam 6
average game average score.

Wharton 5
Battled hard but his distribution was just awful.

McFadzean 5
His 'red' cost us what would have been a very fortunate 2 points

Pickering 7
One of my candidates for MoM. Mumba was another candidate for their MM.

Buckley 6
Surprised to see him taken off and Sigurdsson left on.

Ayari 6
Decent enough showing.

Szmodics 7
The only rovers player to play with the same confidence that he had 5 months ago. Rifled his shot across the keeper and inside the far post like a proper striker. Why his team mates don't try to emulate him is weird to say the least. Also weird was why he didn't use that tried and trusted method v Newcastle, preferring instead to try and blast his two best chances on goal.

Sigurdsson 3
Just awful. Every time he goes in for a challenge the other player comes out of it with the ball.

Gallagher 4
Never a threat to Plymouths goal. Did flick on a number of headers but none of his teammates were waiting for them. I'd imagine they were too surprised.

As for the subs...

Garrett 5
Brought on for his defensive ability in midfield

Dolan 3
Poor and even his non stop effort is of no use when he's switched his football brain off.

Hedges 5
Good to see him back in the team.

Poor, really. We've got some tough games coming up. Millwall and Plymouth at home should have seen us four points better off than we are.
Doesn't help that both those relegation rivals were better than us. We could easily have had zero points.

I don't know why Eustace allowed the three defenders to play such a high line in the first half. There was way too much space against a team with pacy forwards. Offside based tactics need the defenders to know what the others are doing and also for a decent linesman. We had neither of those yesterday.

Come on guys according to our now not new manager we restricted Plymouth to few chances.

Though in reality they had at least 6 what you would call proper chances whilst we played FIVE at the back. Can we count them up? (not all of them are shown in those 2 minute highlights that get shown on You tube - as usual).

So let's see. There was the guy in the first half from the right (inside the box) that hit a shot near post that Wahlstedt saved (away for a corner).
There was Hardie's one on one that he put past the left hand post when racing through on goal.
Hardie's other one (in the 2nd half) where he hit an angled shot past the left hand post under pressure from only 7-8 yards out.
The "touch of a rapist" (Munba?) one where Wahlstedt came out to smother another one on one.
Then there were 2 times when I remember the ball flashing along the ground across the goal just going past the right hand post.
The goal of course . . .

I probably missed some half chances too (bearing in mind they supposedly had 20 shots in all, 7 on target).

Still, fans should remain positive as we are ONLY 17 POINTS OFF THE PLAY-OFFS! 👍 🤪

"You Know" you could be right "You know" and if we play "You Know" like that "you Know" we will get a proper twating "You Know" but " You Know" we have a good bunch "You Know" and they are "You Know" Up for the fight "You Know"

That reminds me of the Beckham "y'know" interview bets from back in the day.

Have you swapped from a pint of bitter to a pint of IPA lately ODB? It might be the reason for your optimism. It suits us better with bitters at the moment. 🤠
Well it definitely won’t be champagne whilst Mr PlayItSafe is manager!
