Saturday sees us meeting Stoke City at Ewood, only a month since the reverse fixture saw us prove that possession stats mean nothing if you can't put the ball in the net.
That win over Rovers was, in fact, Stoke's last victory, so this is hardly a clash of the titans, with Rovers having won once in the last month

So, will we see Dack start a game?
Will Branthwaite have signed from Everton and will he be thrown straight in?
Will Travis keep up his run of yellow cards since his return?
Will ToMo stay awake for the full match?

One thing is for sure - we need to score first.
If Stoke get the first goal, in the words of Fraser "we're doomed, we're all doomed".

Hmmm......... Seems the Pickering deal might not be dead yet. I'd say if Pickering and his agent dig their heels in then the ball is in our court.
Rhys Norrington-Davies: Stoke City sign Sheffield United left-back on loan - BBC Sport

Artell attempting to play hard ball has been left hanging by Stoke.
'Very rosy' - Crewe boss has say on rejecting Blackburn bid for Stoke-linked defender - Stoke-on-Trent Live (stokesentinel.co.uk)

'Don't have to sell'? I wonder if Crewe Alex really do have a money tree in their possession or are they somehow defying gravity created by Covid19?

Seems Artell's being less than complimentary also in rebuking Cardiff's advances towards his right back too.... Perry Ng: Cardiff offer for Crewe captain 'disgusting', says Alex boss David Artell - BBC Sport
I'd say what Ng did recently is more disgusting than Cardiff's offer. Perry Ng: Crewe Alexandra captain gets six-game ban for spitting - BBC Sport

Artell needs to learn that sometimes one needs to select one's words more carefully.

As Corporal Jones would say I hope we “stick it up them”!!

Sadly I cannot see that happening.

Artell needs to be careful. Pickering can go where he wants for free at the end of the season.

1-1 Can’t see past a draw here. Stoke have scored two and conceded similar in the last six games, four of which have been draws.

I suspect my prediction has an element of wishful thinking in it. Am really hoping for a win otherwise I think that's the season gone.

We do need wins tomorrow and v Swansea

Mowbray meanwhile thinks we are good enough to have picked up 12 points more than we have - which would put us in 2nd position currently.

I do too as we've had some poor luck starting with that defeat at Bournemouth, a killer strike in the last minute to see us defeated by Forest plus we had a completely crap December for no good reason. However the flip side of the coin is that I don't think he's taken any points off his total for the rather fortunate results against the likes of Barnsley and Millwall.

I predict a sh!te game tomorrow. I will write Tony’s post-match Press Conference if you wish; it will not be too difficult, just a revamp of the same old words with the odd sentence moved around.

These words will no doubt figure: “unlucky, short of luck, not much luck, luck deserted us, too many games, too many injuries, too many mole holes on the pitch, the referee was a twit (or similar to twit), we need a rub of the green, we move on to the next game, twiddle, twaddle, twiddle, twaddle, unlucky”.

Repeat the above twice after every game.

And the outlandish victory over Rotherham

The Table never lies.

Football Managers have been known to tell fibs

There is no way in the known universe that we are better than or deserve to be above Norwich, Bournemouth, Brentford or Watford and maybe Swansea or Boro under Warnock.

But we still have a mathematical chance at the playoffs and there is a potential space .... maybe

But 2nd now? do me a feckin favour
