What a stark contrast to the London of 1924 on the other thread. Not a Londoner in sight in the above clip.

Just how have we allowed our country to descend to such lawless savagery and barbarity? We should all look in a mirror because it's happened on our watch chaps! As Edmund Burke said "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Unfortunately when one tries as in the case of Tommy Robinson he gets thrown into gaol.

We need more politicians who have actually dealt with conflict and stress. Former soldiers, sailors, farmers, doctors, lawyers, police, small businessmen (including plumbers, electricians, pub owners, etc).

Or at least avoid those from the top schools. All they acquire appears to be connections to those of the same class; individually they’re overrated. Elect more from the run of the mill universities, who nonetheless achieved success.

Even if they haven’t read Plato from cover to cover, they’d have a good bit more in the way of spine and common sense than the current crop.

Simple rule. No one can stand for election until they are over 35 and have worked in the private sector and paid tax for a minimum of 10 years .
