Not all that much of a change when viewed over the past 20 years tbh Abbey. If police numbers are to be used simply as a measure over 'effective policing' then the numbers under Bliars New Labour in 2003 were little different to today's head count. If actual policing in London is thin on the ground then ask the Chief Constable of the Met to account for the situation before you ask the Home Office.
A typical response Benjamin. I expected little else. Would you volunteer to pay a higher rate of income tax out of your wage packet should it be deemed necessary? It would be very public spirited that's for sure and I'd actually applaud you.
Everyday a different section of society bleats on and on about needing more funding.... health service, public sector, Police / Fire / Ambulance, Teachers, Students, Prisons, those utterly ridiculous and unnecessary socialist fabrication food banks, local govt etc etc etc. Oddly enough I never hear about people actually wanting to contribute more of their own money to fund these services. Sure plenty bang on about how OTHERS should pay more tax but they rarely put themselves in the firing line. The nation is intrinsically selfish .... and that doesn't apply solely to the wealthier members of society.
Here are some wise and succinct words which you may like to ponder on .... “The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money” — Margaret Thatcher.
"The government doesn't have any money. The only power it has is to take from some and give to others." - Milton FriedmanThatcher was wrong by the way - it's isn't "other people's money", it's the government's.
According to post 16 above it works out wellYes, they're called taxes. And if you think tax is your money, try not paying it. See how that works out.
Thats exactly what people are doing voting Conservative.Yes, they're called taxes. And if you think tax is your money, try not paying it. See how that works out.
