(I was informed by an OB of
that the former is the correct pronunciation btw.)

Watching Shrewsbury today I've got to say I was pretty impressed. Their season to date appears to be no fluke.
They gave West Ham a real tousling in their FA Cup tie. A draw being the best result that we could hope for. Here's to them finishing the job in the replay and progressing into the next round!* Like Huddersfield last season they appear to have an admirable team ethic with some pretty decent and strong players. Next week will be no walk in the 'Ewood' that's for sure.

*I'd like to say ditto re: Wigan's performance at Bournemouth too. Lets hope they too proceed to the next round.

I was just thinking the same about Shrewsbury Drog. Far better team spirit than Rovers and some decent football as well.

Don't usually watch FA Cup matches but thought I'd take a look at our opponents next Saturday. Echo the thoughts of Drog and BB . Shrewsbury looked a physical ,well drilled unit ,with a strong work ethic and also played some decent football. They troubled West Ham all over the pitch especially at set pieces, with their strong aerial threat . It's going to be a battle and Rovers need to be up for it from the first minute .

Indeed so Tugay, cos lets be honest we have become renowned in this Division for our strong aerial defensive capabilities aren't we? :(

Deeply worrying Drog . Dare I say it , go on I will , I described Shrewsbury as "a physical ,well drilled unit ,with a strong work ethic (who) also played some decent football " and the way they played on Sunday reminded me of Big Sam's approach . A mixture of different styles served up by a tough , no nonsense , resilient and pragmatically coached football team , punching above their weight .

Lets hope they have an off day on Saturday !

Can't wait for Saturday and it's been a long time since I felt like that about a game.
Just hope our inability to break teams down at ewood doesn't haunt us

On a very positive personal note - I won the half time draw for tickets and grub last Saturday - so am joining the prawn sandwich mob for this one

Shrewsbury FC tweeted this afternoon that they have sold 600 tickets to date. Probably their biggest away following.

Been doubled up with a bad back all week, going to have to stop ever other service station, moved my seat to the back row so I can stand going to be a tough one. After watching the Shews on TV the other week very worried about this game, they looked a good unit.

Heart 2-1 Rovers
Head 1-1

Now that's what I call dedication! Well done chor.

Well today is going to be a defining moment in the season, win and it's full steam ahead, lose and there are still 20 games to go,draw and it may give wigan a bigger points gap.
Very confident of a win.just seen wigan have Peterborough at home very tricky that.

Can't believe I'm back and we have such a gigantic game against the mighty shrews. I've not slept and I'm pacing up and down ....

Ooops silly me ,. I refuse to accept it as a big game and hope the Scummers in Pune rot in hell as soon as possible.
If there's any real ambition of redemption for relegation then expect a fired up rovers and a 3-0 win ,if the venkyscum years have taught me anything then expect a 1-2 loss.

I'm really nervous about this game. Armstrong should be a plus but the central midfield is a real worry.

Armstrong on one wing, Conway on the other and Bennet & Smallwood should be OK there I'd imagine. btw If Smallwood gets booked then he gets suspended I believe.
