tbh Chaddy there are loads of local Radio stations around the nation. It's the same argument with them, fund yourself or pack in. The only time that I listen to Radio Blackburn Lancs is when the Rovers are playing away and I'm in the car OR if I can't get to a dodgy box.

I think we need to look how we fund the BBC TV side of the channel/company. Whether it should part subscription based or some adverts on the channel or part TV licence fee.

That must make it difficult to forward plan knowing the grants may be lost.

However it could mean that ABC keep away from the extremes not wanting to upset the government and thus lose their grants; or they toady up and get nice and close to the federal governments in order to maintain the equilibrium.

The ABC has always been viewed by those on the right as being a left leaning organisation. The right have countered this by appointing board members who are considered "right thinking". It's a bit of a conundrum for politicians because it provides a service to areas that other broadcasters ordinarily wouldn't touch due to the size of the country.
Having said that, right leaning governments have cut grants to the organisation, but they know they can't go too far as it would adversely affect their constituents in remote areas.

Channel 4 should be private run.

BBC radio services should remain non privatise but the TV need funding and should it funding by some of it by subscription service and TV adverts.

There is plenty of TV options out there. I have Sky, Netflix and amazon in mu house

Agree on Cummings. Getting rid of him must be Boris’ biggest ever political gaffe. He was taking on the Mandarins in the sclerotic Civil Service who stifle change at every turn , if it’s not to their liking . The old saying ‘ Government’s change but the Civil Service stays the same ‘ is so true and Cummings knew he had to change that to get things done .
