Indeed so with Brereton. I've seen expectancy based on a big fee hinder the development of many players in the past. We had problems when we bought Kevin Davies yet ultimately he turned into one of the best target men in the Premier league. Best to forget him for a year or two and let him develop with players of his own age.... mind you if that happened his contract would be running down all the while and if I was a venky I'd be blazing mad with Mowbray. Even more angry if I was Waggot because he's probably in the firing line too.

If it has already happened then there hasn't been an announcement that I have seen.

Ok how about 1 proven striker, 1 proven CB, plus a RB and LB and No, None, Nana midfielders. I would say a winger but TM doesn't play them, at least for now.

Speaking to an ex player this morning (that not many will recall playing for us) and he reckons Charlie Mulgrew, fine player that he is is the fault in our defence. Says he won't push up and compress play enough because he is too slow to leave room in behind him which opens dangerous gaps between the midfield and defence which opposing teams exploit. Said he's got away with it by playing for so long in Scotland and reckons that his best position would be in central midfield with two tough bastards at CH behind him.
