Southgate's plan B appeared to be to try to negate Croatia's midfield by playing over them, aka hoofball.

Our forwards won very few of the balls lamped up to them, hardly a suprise when only Kane to aim for.

The ball would then go back to the Croatia midfield time and time again.

Keane's half time summary was spot on.

We have very limited creativity. Playing pretty tippy tappy going nowhere academy taught triangles on the midfield flanks doesn't count.

The positives I'm taking from this England campaign are the emergence of Pickford, Maguire and Trippier.

The campaign will most certainly not be classed with " England's past atrocities" ... get my drift Admin Boy?

I will shout for Croatia in the Final, for the underdogs.

Alli, Ligard looked really poor last night and other just seemed to lose their way. Anyway great effort and enjoyed the world cup for once. Would have hated to get a hammering from France..

Agree apart from we shaded the first half when Modric was struggling to get going. Once he did well we had nothing to contain him. It's not just Modric as they have a number of fine footballers and play a just about fair physically aggressive game which some of our lightweights simply could not cope with.
Young's defensive abilities got badly exposed and he was nullified as any attacking threat.
I am at a loss to understand what Ali and Lingard are supposed to do, what there functions were supposed to be. Too lightweight.

Agree with both of you, there is no plan B. Southgate has done a good job by removing all the negatives and at least letting them play a bit but he is no tactical wizard as his club record shows. We will do just the same again in 2020 at the euro's but we will fail again unless we have better players. Croatia where better man for man. I'll be backing them in the final too.

Have a swear filter then. The F word is used often on here. At least you did understand my usage of it and the 'tone' it was used in:eek:. Sharp 'Shut' followed by each following word said in a slow drawl...

Kane was very poor yesterday. He looked tired and his work rate was just not good enough. Spurs are going to struggle early on this season with so many tired bods.

Not impressed that we were beaten by a nation less than half the size in population compared to London. Ice hockey and basketball are the national sports and mountain goat buggering the national pastime.

I must complain at the dreadfully sexist nature of the tv coverage of the World Cup. Time and time again the cameras turned towards blond beautiful women in the various grounds (except England fans as they struggled to find any). I gather a number of complaints have gone in to both ITV and the BBC that this was demeaning.

My complaint is that there was not enough.

FIFA officials have noticed that Croatia used a player that was yellow carded two games ago. He should have missed the last two games.

FIFA officials could disqualify Croatia from the World Cup, meaning England could potentially still be on their way to the final!

This news is official and can be checked on the BBC website. It was brought to the attention of the chairman of FIFA only 25 minutes ago.

Carlsberg don't do statuses, but if they did, this would be the best status of the World Cup 2018!
