that warm horrible feeling I got all over my body when that first goal went in was hard to describe, it was like the feeling you get when someone gives you the worst of worst news, I felt physically sick.

But today of all days we should remember that it's not the end of the world, worse things will happen to every one of us
Think those 2 lines right there are spot on 1SG, exactly how I felt, and also a much needed reminder that its not the end of the world.

Personally I don't think it was quite as bad as some. The plan of sit back, absorb the pressure and hit them on the break worked quite well in the first half. We needed a good save from Kaminski but otherwise restricted them and had the odd good break away (one of them could have resulted in a penalty).

Gallagher's injury seemed to rock us though, and then him unhelpfully signalling he wanted to play on caused confusion on our bench and we had 10 men for about a minute. Vale finally came on and they scored a minute later with Zaroury getting a free cross in despite us having 2 men on him. I think we let ourselves get distracted and switched off. After that I agree things went to pot.

One thing I noticed about them though is they're a dirty lot. Do the same constant tactical fouling that I've noticed with City, and seem to get away with it to the same extent too. I thought there were a few opportunities to break where they made sure if they didn't win the tackle, they took our player out of the attack. And how that dickhead Barnes stayed on the pitch is beyond me, could have had a red for the shove in Kaminski's face 1st half, could have been booked for his obviously deliberate shove after the goal, and should have been booked for a tackle 10 mins later where the ref inexplicably indicated "last chance".

Along with twice giving them goal kicks for blatantly obvious corners, it was the usual garbage standard we've come to expect with Championship refs.

We obviously got beat by a better side today but over the whole season the biggest disappointment has been our lack of adventure in these away games, sometimes against very average sides. If you consider we scored 3 in our first away game at Swansea, yet after 11 away's after today we've scored just 7. Four goals in 10 away games is way under performing for the quality of this team, we can do it at home so why not away?

That's not a moan, it's an open question. My answer would be that we've been a bit too respectful and bothered about the strengths of the opposition in the away games and not concentrated enough on our strengths and what makes us so difficult to beat at home. It's no problem setting up tight in a game like today, just feel we're doing it too often and it's stifling the more creative players in general away from home.

I just think we need to be a bit more positive in these away games, we're losing most of them anyway, so why not get on the front foot and see what happens? As I say I'm not moaning, just think it's something we should be trying after the break.

Let’s be honest every time the UK has voted on immigration. It’s voted for an anti stance. Let’s leave this shit out of football though.
? ...... I must have missed that vote.

I'd still like to export racists in exchange for refugees and why either of these comments are on here I'll never know.
I'd just export racists and call it a day. Btw Refugees don't exist in the UK.

I'd prefer to talk football on this board there's more than enough right wing shit elsewhere on here.

I take your point. There are other places on this mb for debating such, but is concern over migrant invasion / uncontrolled immigration solely restricted to people who are right of centre? I certainly don't think so. Need proof? Try going in any Working man's club / pub across the old red wall and canvassing public opinion.

After a night's sleep I look back and have to say that the manager's meddling did not help. I'm still not sure about him.
Why change a winning team? I understand that Szmodics was injured but there was no need to change the rest particularly dropping the Whartons (keen Blackburn lads and Burnley haters) for the useless Mola (at fault for most of the goals) and the ineffective Garrett. The swapping of the wing backs didn't work either. For a game as important as this the settled team was needed. Tinkering never works.
The manager got it completely wrong today and must be held responsible.

I agree with the tinkerman stuff. Take a lesson out of Dyche's book, he didn't change his team and tactics away from a winning formula very often did he. btw Anybody know what gives with Scotty Wharton's continuing abscence?

As for the 'winning team' description... we've lost 9 now and most of them meekly and without a fight. I think much of this comes down to a lack of fight or grit and determination throughout the squad as evidenced yesterday when the team were sunk without a whimper by a team who exuded determination and a desire to succeed. JDT looks a nice, pleasant chap with an air of Scandanavian sophistication and the squad is beginning to emulate him imo. The championship is a tough division and JDT needs to come to terms with that. True team spirit is forged through a history of confrontation and overcoming the odds, not giving an odd goal away before meekly accepting defeat.

Burnley, and fair play to them, were quite happy to win 'ugly' and if we are being honest so would all of us. What a pleasure it was to be a Rovers supporter when Hughesy was in charge! Never say die, hard as nails but fair with it. No divers, no play acting just (to quote Souness) a squad of proper men. Todd, Flitty, Dickov, Sav, Reid, Neill, Samba, N'Zonzi, Nelsen etc are the type of characters that we need now. They would teach the class of 22 how to square up properly to intimidation. Only my opinion but if Ayala were a little less injury prone I'd make him Captain forthwith.
Here's one from the past, how'd anybody like to square up to these lads in the b&wh?

Before I say what I want say I would like to point out we are still third in the championship which is good so I am not only complaining 😄
However, there is something that I have started to think about and noticed as well when I have seen Rovers games so far this season and that is that our centre midfield is almost totally nonexistent at the moment. We totally lack someone who could actually carry or hold the ball in the middle and therefore I think we are way too easy to read as most of our attacks goes through the wingers. Travis and Morton always goes too deep in the midfield which makes it harder for us to play through the centre.
Btw, Travis has started to annoy a bit me with his constant moaning and cheating on the pitch. And please stop taking stupid yellow cards!

Rant over and let’s hope we will beat Preston in December.

JDT blaming the players after sending out the wrong team is'nt at all good. OOT and I championed signing Sam Morsy on a free a couple of years back but Sunday's match would have been tailor made for his battling qualities.

I think on reflection we missed Sammy Smodzics on Sunday. At least he has a bit about him. I know he’s not a world beater but he and Brownhill would have made an interesting duel.

Cork and Barnes bullied us out of the match and the ref was happy to let them. For us Trav did one foul and got yellow carded.

Now I have had the chance to calm down a bit I can relate my thoughts. b***ley are nothing special and we should have beaten them. JDT had his tactics of sitting back and playing safe all wrong and it made them look a lot better than they are. The foul on BBD in the first half was definitely a penalty but overall that referee was awful and could have been wearing a claret shirt for his overall performance. The thug Barnes should have been yellow carded for his first assault on Kaminsky and possibly have seen red later for his other conduct. JDT should be told by Travis the captain that this playing out from the back has to stop as it's costing us a lot of points. I cannot see why he did not start Scott Wharton in our established back three and played Mola, nor why the inexperienced Garrett started over A Wharton. I've said it earlier and ill say it again, if Scott had played we would not have lost. He would have put a proper challenge in on Barnes very early on.
Oh well, never mind. We are still third and some would say in a much higher position than we should be by rights.

Adam Wharton is hardly experienced odb. I think the general consensus was for Buckley to have played before Garrett.
A brief point perhaps is that Burnley were thumped a week before in front of a big noisy and partisan home crowd by a sheff utd team who clearly wanted to win more than Burnley, one week later and we were thumped by a team who clearly wanted the win more than us in front of a big and partisan home crowd.
Let's hope it's a case of lessons learned and of what goes around, comes around!

At the end of the day the manager put totally the wrong team out. I was shocked when I saw the team sheet. We might have been beaten anyway but the manager certainly did not help.

Why bring it up in the first place?

There is enough left wing paedo stuff elsewhere without infecting this thread.
