I personally think there's barely a hair's breadth between them.
If we'd lost that last game against Millwall, JDT would have finished 2 places lower than Mowbray the previous season, if we'd drawn it he'd have matched him, but as we won it, he beat Mowbray by 1 place. But he got exactly the same points as Mowbray in 2021/22, whilst we scored 9 less and conceded 4 more.
There's the argument that he did better than Mowbray in his first season, but there's also the argument that Mowbray gave him a great platform to start with (unlike the dreadful state of the club from top to bottom that Mowbray inherited). There's also the fact that Mowbray's new team pipped us to the play-offs.
All things considered, IMO they're virtually identical in ability as managers. They're both good 'uns and if you ask me many Rovers fans don't appreciate how good we've had it in recent years. But if I absolutely had to choose one, it'd probably be Mowbray.
