I have to agree. Southgate seems rather more in favour of 'discovering' new England players than playing top proven players. Would Phillips have played if LUFC hadn't been promoted? Was he included as part of some 'generate momentum for Leeds in the Prem' policy which it seems to me the press and media have hungrily bought in to.

Where have all these 10 squad withdrawals in the close season come from? Hardly the middle of a gruelling season is it?

Sack em all. This time for at least two years. Chilwell might be a miss but the other two are easily replaceable.

Birthday party ffs! Hope those little lads remembered to get party poppers and a cake.

If Southgate doesn’t ban them then what do Foden and the other one who’s name escapes me think?

Of course it’s all Boris Johnsons fault.

Greenwood. The fact you don't know his name shows how replaceable he is.

Southgate will do whatever hes told. A corporate YES man.

The PL players truly believe the hype that surrounds them. Cretins, as thick as Pig shit.

On another point is Abraham had tried to get the ball of me just before taking a penalty I've have had a discussion with him without the need for Captains intervention.

I can see the issue and it may well have been that Lampard had actually given that instruction. The manager is the one to decide on pen takers on the training ground. However as in Chelsea's case on Saturday I firmly believe that if a team get a second penalty in a match that another player should be designated to take it. I'd recognised this 40 odd years ago and now every penalty is televised it's even more important. If that was the case then Abraham was right but only if that was the case. Alternatively if it's decided that the 'penalty taker' continues in that role and blasts the first one then he should place the second and vice versa. As it happened Jorginho's second was a carbon copy of his first, it worked but as his Manager I'd be having a discussion with him about that Monday am. Chelsea won't always be 3-0 up with less than 10 mins to play and when it really matters penalties are a very different prospect to all but the very top players.

England looked classy v Belgium until Belgium decided to join in. Since then they are making England's defence look like amateurs. Dier just committed the cardinal sin of going to ground in the penalty area and giving a penalty to Belgium. 0-1

HT 1 (Rashford pen)-1 (Lukaku Pen).

Rather fortunate to be level with what I deem a rather ordinary England team.
Dier and Maguire look a bundle of nerves against Lukaku.
Mason Mount who I rate not really showing at right midfield.
Rice who i don't really rate not covering himself in glory either. I haven't seen much of him and so I may be wrong but I don't understand the rave reviews he's been getting. (Ditto Sancho btw who is on the bench.)
Trippier doing OK considering he's playing out of position at left back.
Calvert Lewin not of the standard required. He looks like he'd be more comfortable playing for a minor nation like Ireland or wales. Think I'd rather have Ings.

I know Belgium are a top team but England do appear to be going backwards from the World Cup of two years ago, No creativity tonight in a team of square passers. Lot of players who had the quality rather disappearing from contention currently. Barclay, Ali, Loftus-Cheek, Hudson Odoi etc. Southgate should be on his knees to Jamie Vardy. Is Raheem Sterling injured? Edit... yes. Now crying out for Grealish and Kane to provide some creativity and a cutting edge.

England hanging on a little here. Should really be level. Bonus! De Bruyne off.

Thats a turn up! Harry Kane missed a sitter from 6 yards out. Free header in front of goal. Would have killed the game off nicely.

Very impressed with Belgiums left back Denayer. We need one of them don't we?

Didn't see that coming as it looked like Belgium were going to batter us as we were shocking in defence at times - almost as shocking as Belgium's finishing.

A win's a win!

I just wish we could save some of this 'luck' for a Euro or World Cup knockout game. :imp:

A very lucky win in my opinion. Belgium looked a far better outfit than England. We got a soft penalty and a lucky deflection. Surely there are better players around. Grealish?

I'll give my scores for the suitability of each player featuring last night for England duty. This is not for last night's performance btw, just simply whether they currently possess international 'class'. Feel free to disagree......
Henderson... 7 Ok in an england shirt and his kicking is very good.
Alexander Arnold.. 6 Rather better offensively than defensively. Is he good enough against a quality opponent?
Walker....6 A little vulnerable in certain areas.
Dier... 6 Lukaku showed him up a little.
Maguire...6 Getting found out at top level.
Trippier...7 Never say die for effort and application.
Henderson... 6 Good leader but rather uninspiring in creativily.
Rice.... 5 I hear great reviews about this lad but I haven't seen it myself as yet. Admittedly I haven't seen that much of him.
Mount 7 I do think this lad has international class.
Rashford ... 6 Good club player but not the all round ability imo to step up to the very top.
Calvert Lewin... 4 Selected as a player in form but as they say form is temporary, class is permanant.
subs
Phillips...5 I haven't seen enough of this lad but would he be even considered if LUFC were still in the Championship?
Kane... 8 Although that is on past performances, he did nowt last night and is looking a little like his career has peaked.
Sancho 4 A great press and a great name. Unfortunately I've never seen him do much for England. Would he be in the squad if he played in England for Burnley, Palace or NUFC? Somehow I doubt it.

That'll spook the rest of his teammates along with the entire French team. I wonder if he was feeling a little off colour when they played at the weekend? He did miss a couple of what he would class as sitters.

HT Eng 0 - Denmark 1
Stupid 1st yellow but Never a second yellow for maguire.
Never a penalty either.

how tf do such bad referees get past park football? Watch out for this Spanish tosser in the future ......... Jesús Gil Manzano

having said that I repeat my comments above.... England appear to be going be going backwards from the World Cup team.

Referee continuing to make himself look a fool. Like so many refs he is over reacting to girly screams.

Rice continuing to be poor for England and proving my opinion correct. Ditto for rashford.
Too many inexperienced players at this level.
As Denmark claim the territory vardys pace would be invaluable.
