I hope the new Conservative government will finally address the menace that is Islamic extremism

Recently read the words of General James " Mad Dog " Mattis . When asked " What keeps you awake at night? " Mad Dog replied " Nothing keeps me awake at night , I keep other people awake at night "

Take heed of his words Theresa

They were sniffing about at ewood too on Saturday, snipper on the roof too. The problem is this is short term they won't keep doing it and the scum will wait till our guards are down.

Maybe they should be unpredictable and not let people know which events are going to be heavily secured. Gonna be snipers on the roof don't tell everyone beforehand. Of course they can't afford to do this all the time (Corbyn's magical money tree delusion but also people wanting to get back to "normal") but at randomly selected events. Also how often do terrorists bomb places (certainly in UK) so soon after another bombing incident? In the UK there's been 1 terrorist bombing in last 10 years. Of course not forgetting the other recent attacks but they were not at secure ticketed events with bombs involved. Of course the Manchester bomber showed up as people were leaving didn't he? So instead of taking the predictable route be more random. OK people have a somewhat illogical nature (people on here saying they won't travel to London recently despite the population odds) so places probably need to be crawling with security at the moment otherwise less people will attend. Obviously certain people in the entertainment world may also demand high security at any of their events.

I'm sure there can be more subtle ways of improving security too without giving the impression a building is on lockdown. More detection devices well obscured or disguised perhaps than presently used. Panels on the ceilings or under the floor for instance. At some point though a major event (I'm talking a high profile football match for instance like a WC final) is going to get hit however good the security is.

I liked lockdown to be honest, the wife was worried all week, once we got past the scanners, the armed police, the sniffer dogs and the snipper she felt very safe as I'm sure everyone did. If there is no real end in sight to these nut cases then it has to be high security all the time. However as I posted above I bet it is a short term measure before they revert to candles and hashtags again.

Some I agree with, ISIS fighters, burning poppies, beheading placards, troop funeral disruption.

But

5500 on the watch list, many of them will be innocent, do we deport them anyway?and its not illegal to wear a burqa, so thats just bunkum.

Remember 'Callan'? Bloody good series that.
Ah yes, used to love that one, great actor Edward Woodward, Russel Hunter did great job lonely as well.
Callan came across as a believable version of Danger man.
Having said that, I have all the Prisoner episodes on CD and no Callan!

Many of them WILL be innocent Gav. That is without a doubt but as we saw in Manchester and London it only takes one! You can't deny that every one of these religious sicko's had been reported to the authorities who had no doubt applied a similar criteria to yours gav. Better to be safe than sorry and as I suggested in an earlier post the Principle of British Law which states that people are "Innocent until proven guilty" should be reversed in Terrorist situations to "Guilty until proven innocent" Better to be safe than sorry is imo the only way forward when dealing with such evil brainwashed bastards whose only ambition is to kill themselves and take as many innocents as possible with them.
