I am told ST’s were selling very well today.

Are the Diamond Lounge tickets where you pay a premium to go in The Red Rose Suite pre-match and also have the joy of watching the Managers post-match press conference?

Yea
Sandwich and a brew pre match - access to the bar without all the hustle and bustle on the concourse
And you get to sit in the padded seats

Well worth the extra £100 - you cant get unlimited brews and a sandwich for a £5 a game anywhere else on or near the ground
And the view is brilliant

Only one :joy: and its a pre packed job but would still cost you £2/3 in a shop (I only had one all season - so there is probably extras ;))
It is ideal if you have time after the game and just want to wait for the traffic to ease - Pop into Jacks Kitchen for a drink or go and watch the press conference
It is great value - in fact I would imagine it costs more than it generates (there was only 36 of us last year who paid the premium and that is perhaps why they don't think it is worth continuing with?)
It would have been nice to be given the info though

I’m sure I’ve seen that advertised by the club recently somewhere?

It was started last season and is prob an initiative designed to fill the back of the corporate seats and stop people buying an upper outer ticket and moving into the middle of the JWU which had become an increasing issue. £4 per match is really good value for that. Maybe they should create a 'Super Diamond' by adding another £100 and offer a season long car parking space at the far side of the car parks which I presume (but I could be wrong) are usually empty. I'd definitely have one of those.

Or a Super Super Diamond Class ST where you get a pint and a Balti pie.

I saw this on Google. It lists our average attendances over the years. The mostly ‘0’ column is the number of sell out crowds. I did not have the gates for the 1970’s. This shows a massive dip after the Wembley debacle in 1960. Even the season after we won the PL we still could not fill Ewood. The big damage was done following relegation from the PL in 2012 and subsequently the relegation season down to L1.

That’s not right. During the first set of premier league fixtures we sold out certain matches completely, notably the red rags or scousers. Plus everyone knows the gates were fiddled to appear lower in the 80,s.

I don’t think we have ever sold out at the new Ewood. The closest was Newcastle at home close to the end of 94/95. I am happy to be corrected though.

I can just remember in the mists of time that the match commander had announced a sellout on certain games to staff Policing the particular game that’s all. I suspect that the official gate figure was lower than capacity due to segregation issues although every available seat was sold.

For anyone interested - I noticed they're guessing on the other site but I refuse to have anything to do with that miserable mob - the sales of season tickets as of Monday 13th June

BE Lower - 3027
Riverside - 1339
JW Lower - 1104
JW Upper - 1489
Total - 6959

This is taken from the stadium map and some figures may be slightly out due to the front row being a bit of a guess as to whether they're sold or not on sale at all.

Anyway, gives everyone an idea as to how many we've sold at the moment and whether the new manager will give these figures a boost.

Up the Blues.

Welcome 1SG and please carry on posting. We do have our moments on here but we are allowed to have differing views and to post them without being hunted down and derided by a pack. I refuse to participate in the ODS (Original Dark Side) as it would probably drive me to self harm and my head would probably wobble off with angst.

As for your post I don’t think you are too far out, I do know the ticket office was busier this afternoon and they took a ‘relaxed view’ to renewals at the old rate; over 5% of those who have bought a ST to date are new ST holders and would have already paid the higher (+£30) price.

Personally I believe the ticket prices are too high and that Rovers should have been more imaginative. However it is not as simple as that and the Rovers Senior Management are being kept to a very tight budget by the owners and they were not allowed to cut the ST prices - this is the problem of having owners who are distant from the day-to-day running of Ewood.

I am excited for the coming season for the first time in many years. JDT and his staff must be given time and a decent budget; there are no easy, quick fixes.

Welcome. BB

I don’t buy mine and the wife’s season tickets until the last minute , in effect a week before the season starts . I’ve got my cricket head on at the moment, so Rovers will have to wait .

The tickets are expensive but when worked out over a 9 month season around £12 a week on average for an adult , so I’d imagine affordable for most , even in these difficult times . I hope the numbers increase . As a fan base we’ve had so much more success over the last 30 years than our local rivals , so sticking with the club in difficult times is payback for the good times .

Are they though? Have we brainwashed ourselves? I'm sure my ticket is now only about the same as it was 15 years or so ago. John Williams reduced them remember and I recall thinking 'if we ever get relegated and lose the Prem money we will be in the shit as we will have to put ST's up after a relegation season'.

Has anybody received their ticket yet? I renewed a while ago and was told that they were issuing new cards this season but I've not received anything yet.
