£16 at Sainsbury's is unlikely to be beaten although Sainsbury's is currently on my banned list. If you want any help bulk buying Toogs I'll take 2 or 3 off your hands.

I was going to suggest phoning this lot......
World's biggest consumer of French Benedictine liqueur is working men's club in Burnley | Daily Mail Online

See if they'll sell you a bottle or two. Worlds biggest outlet for Bene so they should have some spare. I believe they actually get it in a special sized XL bottle so that it fits their optics. Also If younger members aren't quite taking to it as much as their forefathers did maybe they'd be only too happy to sell some and maintain their top status with the monks who produce it.

BINGO:

£16 at Sainsburys. If you buy 6 you get 25% off which is equivalent to £12 per bottle...and you get Nectar points.
Thanks BB . I’ll pop over to Sainsbury’s tomorrow. I’ve been on the website and I’m not sure if the 25% off for 6 applies to liquors but I’ll ask . Even if it doesn’t the £16 per bottle is still a good deal . Cheers

I must admit I guessed at the 25%. I was at Sainsbury’s Bamber Bridge early this evening and bought 6 x Frexinet Prosecco which was already decently discounted before the 25% discount.

To be honest BB, I'd forgotten about it.
I'll try to remember to find a bottle somewhere local.
I'm not going to do anything today, as I'm suffering from over indulgence of alcohol from yesterday's golf Christmas function!
I know the winters in NSW rarely plunge to the brass monkey levels of an Accy December Dave, but you'll get the best of a bene on a cold, dark winter evening sitting in the glow of the wood burner, or an open fire.

See rover95 above. They think they've taken an early lead over the opposition for Christmas business but it could turn into a massive own goal. Sainsbury's is just a shop, and with lots of other shops around they need to remember that,

Really enjoyed a "sundowner" of bene n 'ot last night after a couple of red ales (actually the sun had long disappeared behind the hills to the west that we look out to on a good day). Perfect weather for it, with a crackling fire indoors, icicles clinging to the north facing eaves, and the commercial forest's canopy captured by the waning moon. Who needs Game of Thrones on the telly, when you've got that on your doorstep? Looking forward to more of the same this evening!

SLKS, I've long given over longing for cold nights and a crackling fire.
Give me warm, balmy nights, swatting mozzies (not really, but we have things that keep them at bay). sitting outside, garden lights on, chatting til late, then going inside and off to bed.

I do think all proper seasons are good, obviously balmy summer evenings are worth the blistering midday heat for just as the current crisp walks in a cold but sunny winter wonderland are fantastic too (with the right gear of course), but this global warming is making them all run into one grey miserable drizzle. And that really pisses me off.
I've a feeling that once retired 'proper' I might elect to spend my 90 days abroad (since brexit) between Nov and Feb. Summers fine enough here.

Funny about that Drog.
I quite like Sydney summers, though this one to date has been on the wet side, and at times, cool.
Now winters feel cold, and we're thinking of using our apartment in Cairns (currently rented) as a getaway in Sydney's winter. Late May to early August/September would make the year round temp really good.
Just got to get rid of covid.

Cairns? That's a long way North. Isn't that in the tropics dave? La Nina at present causing the rain in eastern Oz isn't it? It'll be wet and humid up there too.

Seems a Brandy and bene mix has met with your approval OOT? Do you do 50:50 or more one than the other?
