I am salivating at the thought of this game.Will JDT go for it or will he field a largely 2nd team and get some game time for those not yet fully fit (Ennis)? I would do the latter.

Tomasson confirms that the Wharton brothers will both start against Walsall. No surprises there.

I'm curious to see what part Scott Wharton plays in the squad this season. It seems as though Tomasson simply doesn't fancy him. I feel as though he has regressed somewhat in the last couple of seasons. The mistakes are more noticeable with him than any other defender.

Scott is a decent defender and it's worth keeping him in or around the first team to keep Adam happy.

I dont think he has regressed - he just doesnt fit our present set up and (to me) he is a bit of an innocent victim - he hasnt done much wrong in my eyes

Well to me he's not regressed or progressed but Carter has gone up a gear and made right sided CH his own. No worries for Scott he'll get plenty of game time as injuries and suspensions start to bite and when he gets his chance he needs to grab it with both hands. In the meantime he just needs to get his head down and work at his game. What happens should Baath turn up I've no idea.

It is good to have competition for positions; it is even more important when injuries and suspensions kick in. I like Scott and he is more than capable of upping his game.
