Indeed the press & media / FA / corporate fawning over the big clubs is not only nauseating but also bad for the national game itself. No matter what they do or what rules they change they will never turn me to support a Big Club from afar. No idea when the penny will drop though.

It's OK because we have one of the better teams in the Championship and last season we were winning more than we were losing which for a partisan supporter is enjoyable but if you have no ambition for promotion what is the point in winning unless you win playing good football? Would you honestly not change places with a lower Prem club like the Dingles and receive upwards of £120 millions every season just for being there instead of being beholden to to Venkys for every penny? I would.

Tough question (imo)
I was bored with mid table / nothing to play for except maybe a cup semi-final whilst in the Prem.
I did love the odd success against one of the big boys and enjoyed watching some of the cream of world football playing at Ewood but all excitement was long gone.
Our demise angered me more because it needn't of ever happened and our future was secure(ish), but after that it was all getting pretty boring
The last couple of seasons have been great to watch and there has been a real feeling of "all in it together" again, being a yoyo club kind of appeals more to me than mid table predictability

Robbie Keane was 17 years-old and hadn't even made his debut for Wolves. That's some foresight. :p

We needed the money and the recognition that came with it *** but I bloody hated being lined up as cannon fodder for the media darlings. Something far purer and more honest in this division and the lower one.

*** btw Is it only me whose noticed that Burnley is now on every local BBC weather chart and Blackburn, Bolton and Preston on none?

Yes I’ve noticed . I think Burnley was added to the weather map quite some time ago when Tony Livesey ( almost as objectionable as that other Dingle , Alastair Campbell ) used to present the sport and sometimes substituted for Roger Johnson as one of the main presenters . He obviously had a bit of influence

I don’t mind as it helps me to know what the weather is going to be like in Yorkshire before I go to visit the in - laws .
