Thanks WB . That would be a brave and risky appointment. He lacks any sort of managerial experience , but obviously shown he’s a decent coach , certainly at youth level .

I suppose it would suit the budget and cause minimum disruption / change behind the scenes . Almost opposite to an Allardyce / Dyche / Warnock type .

I have to say next season does concern me if we stay in this division , which looks increasingly likely . Whoever manages the club will have an almost impossible job to meet many supporters’ expectations within the inevitable tighter financial restrictions .

TM hasn’t sated his critics this season, despite top 6 for 3 months and a likely top 10 finish at worst . Whoever comes in has to do better than that .

Damian Johnson? On what possible basis do you say that WB? Appointing DJ with no knowledge of him fits with playing Jack Vale at CF with no personal knowledge of his ability. I take it you don't know DJ personally nor if he is Management material? If he's worked with TM all this time might it be that they share the same faults that you despise in TM? Before you take a wild swing at promoting a coach to the hot seat then ponder Ray Harford and Brian Kidd.
If we are to take a really illogical step like that then why not chase another hunch and bring back Billy Barr? It's all his kids that are coming through now after all.

This is just a ridiculous debate anyway. Why on earth sack a manager whose team is going for a promotion place and punching over it's weight? Your hatred of a man you don't even know personally is just obtuse WB. The time to sack a manager is when relegation is on the cards. Sack Mowbray now and the club will be a laughing stock in the football world, even worse most neutrals across the land will turn against us and wish us relegation asap. Watford sacked Dyche to bring in Zola, Brum sacked Rowett to their cost too and we all know how much it cost Ashley when his stupidity saw him bin off Allardyce and bring in Keegan.
Football is littered with the results of owners who might be Ok in business but don't have a clue about what makes football and footballers tick.

TM contract comes to a end at the end off the season I'm happy for him to go,he looks like Hughes did in his last season at Rovers,I wish him well I honestly think he will retire from football and enjoy his family on the tees.

From the transfer window in Jan and the diarra fiasco it was obvious hughes was on his way. His demeanour soured from jan on when it was clear that despite him making the club a fortune the trustees in possession of the rovers were not going to match his ambition.

Are you trying to turn this into BRFCS?
Calling people's views ridiculous and using words like obtuse and hatred.
You've previously told me I wanted my team to fail as well as not having joined-up thinking and a few other choice phrases.
All because I have a different view to you?

I wonder why we don't get many new posters when they see this sort of reply to their views.

I currently seem to be having a parallel debate with you and OOT on the Mowbray topic, yet the responses are like chalk and cheese.
Time to move on methinks.

The situation we find ourselves in reminds me of the Paul Simon track "Slip sliding"
"Slip sliding away, slip sliding away,
The nearer your destination, the more you're slip sliding away".
For me, it's total frustration with Mowbray, we've been here before, he's not learning from the past, so it should be, "Soyanara Tony, thanks for the effort, time to go".

Personally I like TM. He is a lovely chap to talk to and his knowledge of football is immense.

My issues with him are how he sets up his team and how long he leaves it to move to Plan B. Both Derby at home and Coventry away are good examples of this. Coventry away was crying out for Dolan to be brought on to help close the game down; his work rate is fantastic and he can defend as well as hold the ball up….what did TM do, he brought on bloody Hedges.

I have no idea of a replacement for TM but I am of the view that we need a change as we are predictable, stale and in need of new ideas. If I had my way I would be looking at Ainsworth.

Maybe Drog has teamed up with TM at Pleasington Golf Club. They would make a lovely couple 😘😉

I didn't call anyone or their views ridiculous WB, check back and you'll find it was the debate itself which I called ridiculous.... because it bloody well is! If anyone is turning this into a BRFCS type slanging match it isn't me. This is a robust and open debate and nothing more. One that I cannot comprehend after the last 12 years but but that is prob irrelevant. I don't go on BRFCS now and haven't in a long time but I hear plenty of comment that Mowbray gets attacked mercilessly over there every time something doesn't suit. I do not want this mb to sink to the level of a hanging party.
Hatred? Maybe that is a bit strong because I doubt you know him personally. Splitting hairs so I've changed it to 'apparent dislike'. Also do we really need to ban the use of the word 'obtuse'?

Here we are having the best season for well over a decade, and one that isn't even over, yet every time we have a bad result (and in the cold light of day a draw away at Coventry isn't a bad result and one that most would prob have taken before the match) and you use it to attack the Manager. I'd be willing to bet a fair amount that you'd never have made a derogatory comment if the Ref had blown 30 seconds earlier.

Time to move on but I do recall how the 'Allardyce out' movement seemed to spread like wildfire around Blackburn and we've been punished ever since for allowing such stupidity to continue. btw by complete coincidence the number '7' figured again as a reason to sack the manager back then but that was a defeat to Man Utd. This coming on the back of a very respectable 9 points from the 4 previous matches in Nov 10.
Allardyce's only instruction from the board and the Trust at that time was 'don't let the club be relegated'. The club was for sale and the two individuals in the Trust who had BRFC in their portfolio just wanted out. Relegation would have been the kiss of death. No instruction to buy top players, no instruction to play attractive football either, just the 'Don't get relegated' order. The rest as they say is history.

My opinion is that we are at the business end of the season. We’ve got 6 games left and we are definitely in the shout for a playoff place. We haven’t been here for a long while. Surely all this talk of changing the manager should come second to fully supporting the players and staff at this critical time. Every match day from now will be absolutely fascinating with twists and turns aplenty. Who knows it could be the end of 30 years of hurt since our last playoff triumph! Let’s all get behind the club at this exciting time.

In times like this, I find my solace in music like this, blues music of course:

I'm just pissed off with a great opportunity being missed.
Could I borrow that crystal ball of yours sometime dave?

Doesn't need a crystal ball, the evidence is there for all to see. It's deja vu, all over again and again.
Oh, if it's the music, then it's courtesy of spotify.
