Dunno what our Rovering Reporter BB has been doing but he hasn't been doing his job this week. Our second midlands club in 3 days is coming up on Wednesday night and all of a sudden the Rovers squad have been bedevilled by a spate of injuries to key players. Pears, Barnes, Hedges, Leonard, Ennis and Gallagher are vying for the treatment beds at Brockhall. All talk of who should be dropped / who should be given a chance has been replaced by who can climb the steps on to the bus. Speaking of which we might even need to park said bus across the goal line given that we along with Soutthampton have let most goals in in the entire Championship!
20 goals in just 9 matches does not make good reading!
The most memorable thing about Coventry is not the strip by Lady Godiva but this wonderful 70's strip by Admiral. I've no idea about the good lady's collars and cuffs but this one was teamed with a ginger bush. Height of fashion in the 70's!
BB would of course have put a smutty image of the Good Lady instead but I'll spare you all such vulgarity. No doubt he'll be along soon to drag the board down a level or two.
Cov Manger is the excellent Mark Robins who was a decent enough player in his time but his reputation will always be sullied by him scoring the goal that kept Alex Ferguson in a job when the Man U faithful were clamouring for his head! FA Cup: Mark Robins saves Alex Ferguson - 25 years on - BBC Sport
How different could our history have been during the Walker years without that goal? How many titles could we have won? Two more seasons and Eric Harrison handed Fergy the class of 92 and the dominance of Man Utd was set!
So chins up folks, Sunday's result rather reminded me of the night that Mitrovic and Fulham put us to the sword. A Prem team in all but division and a superstar centre forward knocked us for 7! Much rending of clothes and gnashing of teeth followed but a matter of weeks later we vwere 2nd in the table. Lets hope for a similar reaction from the lads,
