Oh my where do I start with the cycle bashing. First off pink we do pay bloody road tax as 99.99999% of us have cars. The roads are not just there for cars they are to be shared with other road users. I know you lot can't be serious but I've been knocked off a couple of times by bad drives and it bloody hurts. You can die quick under the wheels of a car.
I don't ride two a beast
I wave cars past
I stop at lights
I don't jump on the curb
The roads are full of cars (normally with one person in them) making unnecessary short trips that could be made by bike, less pollution, less cost to the user and a positive effect on your health that is unless you come across a roversfans.com maniac trying to run you down.
Well said! I’m not a cyclist and I am a driver, so I’d like to think I’m in a position to be objective about it.
Obviously you get conscientious people and inconsiderate people in any group. But if we’re going to generalise then from my experience the road users at least personal risk are the most inconsiderate. Cyclists have very high risk on roads so, even if it’s due to the selfish motivation of self-preservation, in my experience they follow the rules a lot more than cars.
Motorists overtake when there’s not enough space or round a blind bend, constantly break the speed limit, have appalling lane discipline, push in on queues, mess about with their satnav/make-up/mobile/kids whilst driving. Motorists can be absolutely abysmal because it’ll cost them an insurance payout and usually not even that when better drivers accommodate for their idiocy.
Cyclists can pay for mistakes with their lives so the vast majority of the time don’t make any.
