I am looking to go to Boston USA with the Missus for a short break of 4 or 5 nights.

Does anyone have any hotel recommendations please?
The Intercontinental is my fave in Boston BB. It’s a great hotel, not slap bang in the middle of the town but only a short walk to the centre or the waterfront, handy for South station where you can catch a train or the T (subway) to lots of interesting places like Harvard, MIT or go to watch the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

I’ve also stayed at the Hilton (OK) and the Langham (very nice), both right in the centre but The Intercontinental is the best in my view.

Boston is a great city, really laid back compared to New York and plenty to do. Just get used to lots of stuff about how the nasty Brits were overthrown and don’t ask where the tea party is ;)

Thank you so much WB.

I have been to Harvard a couple of times on work sponsored courses but hardly saw Boston apart from the airport and the train station to take me down to New York Penn Street. I will definitely look at the Intercontinental. I maybe back to ask more questions!!

The airport and catch the 1st plane out. I've promised myself never to visit a muslim country again after western tourists became targets. Rem it's the same sun wherever you go.

If I was to go to Turkey I recall we had an excellent holiday about 15 years ago in a 5 star in Icmeler . Can't recall the name of it but it was really good. Went to Marmaris to the water park one day and that was a godawful dump! tf er indoors didn't book there. However all that was before the random muslim attacks on Western tourists. Oh! Another thing is that the cheeky barstewards charge everybody a tenner (cash) just to get into the bloody country at the airport! That's enough to put anyone off imo.

Morocco? Never been to a resort but I've been to Marrakech twice. The souk at night is an experience that's for sure but again it's not for us. You can't drink alcohol on tables and chairs outside a bar there, you have to drink inside and sometimes it can be as hot as sin in the middle of summer. Some lovely hidden gems in riads and restaurants as they are behind high walls with a courtyard in the centre to provide sanctuary from the summer heat.

With Greece, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal to select a bucket and spade holiday from why anybody would bother with the others is beyond me, apart from the fact that they are offering dirt cheap holidays to try and tempt bargain hunters back. Shouldn't have frightened em off in the first place should they?

Maybe but I begrudge spending my money with them. How about Croatia? That's a beautiful country.

7 weeks and 1 day to two weeks in Costa Adeje. Not that I'm counting and I'm really looking forward to Crete in September. I've never been there and I've always wanted to since I watched "Who pays the Ferryman" on TV. (Most of you are probably too young 1977.)

Dunno what anybody else thinks but I have to say what a great summer we've just had. Perfect temperatures, no rain and bang on the Bank Holiday weekend. Summer 2018 will live long in the memory. Let's hope 2019 will be as good.
