JDT - Jon Dahl Tomasson

If JDT had been in charge then having Hedges Dolan and Gallagher back would have resulted in the same score. Maybe the main difference also having the English Kevin Moran helped too.
I’m not so sure about that. It was clear that the players had much more freedom in the Stoke game than the ones before. Hedges would have been stuck in a triangle and there would have been no cross balls for him to chase as JDT never wanted that or quick starts from the goalkeeper. We were always fighting an opponent with all their men behind the ball which makes things quite much harder.

I know of another first team player (not named) who privately hated JDT.

I'd guess at Scott Wharton. He was out of favour quite often under Tomasson. Cannot believe to this day that he was left out for the Dingledome game. Seemed to only get back in due to our injury woes.

I see that JDT has been named the new boss of Sweden. The rumours about him were clearly true wanting away from the club.
..... for NOWT! Just think we could have had a release sum for him? No doubt we'd heard about their interest and wanted a fee to rip his contract up whilst he and Sweden set about screwing us over by playing a waiting game? "We'll put a temp caretaker manager in and you get out of BRFC for nowt and the job's yours".
Our dreadful form from Mid November is making more sense now also the very quick appointment of Eustace which must have been in the offing for months. Or rather it is to a conspiracy theorist like myself. Have to say the contrast in our results, the mysterious disappearence of Hedges, the outing of Trav, the immediate recovery of Gallagher, Pears, Dolan etc is all adding up now.

We could really do with Travis. I like Tronstad. He gets stuck in and he keeps things simple. Our most reliable soldier this season. But Travis has something Tronstad doesn't have. Shit-housery. Every team needs one in this league.

The thing with Trav is that he is always guaranteed a yellow card. He needs to work on this.

It's international friendlies. Not exactly a right benchmark.

We've Eustace who hasn't since joining us won a game in 10. Glass houses and an all.

I agree with you, this would never be the easiest of starts for JDT and who cares about friendly games? However, would you go full attack against one of the best teams in world? In a away game? When you know the confidence of the players is rock bottom?
Deja bloody vu!
It was actually funny to read comments from people saying "is this how we are supposed to be defending?".
He will have more easier games coming up and Im sure he will start to win games but i will stand by what i said, i think he is one trick pony and IF he would manage a top quality team he might get away with his vision how to play football.

Is that not sweden though? No disrespect but you seem to have a bit of a golden generation of players in attacking roles; Gyorkeres, Isak, Larson, Kluseveski etc. less in defence where you are still playing Lindelof?

I love sweden by the way but somehow you’ve ended up completely unbalanced as a national side

I was merely stating a fact, Dunny. I’ve no opinion yet on JE but I was a great fan of JDT. I wish him well in his new job.
And your welcome too it mate. Sweden though for reasons I’ve just described to robin seem to have an embarrassing turn of riches when it comes to forward players! Less so in defence.

Yep I wish JDT the best too. Mile above our level and what we’ve replaced him with which is the worst coach in 150 years at this club.

It’s not so much a golden generation in the Swedish national team as many of them are underperforming if compared to how they play in their club team.
Defensively we have been poor for a long time now and that is something that will be tricky to do and I’m quite sure that JDT will not be the man to sort it out as he knows very little about how to defend.
