I agree but.......
We had it.........
And fucking threw it away. And everything that has happened including our slide back down to our 'real' level could (and much more importantly) should never have happened
And that is why it's a shit show imo
Yeah do get that. The TV money creates this weird situation where once you're an established PL club, it doesn't matter how small you are, you can maintain it IF you have the right manager. We had the right manager, we could have easily maintained it.

I'm not sure I'll ever get over the Big Sam sacking. Jerome Anderson, Kean, Venkys, the fans. All played their part in the single worst decision in the club's 147 year history in my opinion. I genuinely hope Anderson and Kean die horrible deaths, but how can you remain permanently mad at your own owners/fans?

So we are where we are now, self-inflicted or not our PL status is gone and I just think the fans need to find a way to enjoy being a bog standard Championship outfit, like Preston fans have always had to.

After today. The Dack huddle on the pitch they the squad didn’t know what was happening. Dacky got them sorted and we got a draw because stodgy was going the way of Sunderland and others.

If we could get rowett I’d pull the trigger tbh.

I tend to agree with Dunnfc. JDT needs potting asap.
We’ve got worse since the opening Swansea and QPR games which I was spawning over! This isn’t enjoyable his game of football is actually why we have the WLWL mentality. Lovely lads soft as shite.

I do believe I frequently warned last spring as the clamour to shove Mowbray out of the exit door grew...... be careful what you wish for!

'every day is a school day' as they do say.

I partly blame the fans for Allardyce's sacking. Chanting 4-4-2 at matches, chanting the name of strikers on the bench, the fury at long-ball whenever we got beat was very similar to the fury at JDT's passing style when we get beat now.

I (and probably a few on here) was on brfcs a lot back then and ironically Jim was one of the few people on my side sticking up for Allardyce. There was about 5 of us constantly defending him against the other 30 or so regular posters slagging him off. And mentioned before but I'll always remember the night he got sacked ringing up TalkSport to say its a disaster after every Rovers fan on the show before me celebrated it.

Venkys were engaged with the club back then, I'm certain they were aware of the fans feelings and I'm certain it gave them the confidence to sack him. So yeah I do blame (some of) the fans.

Very true but this football is terrible. We look so devoid of any attacking intent.

He's not going anywhere but I would he sorts something out.

The football wasn’t great though was it? The thing is most would accept his style and results now I suppose.

It wasn't but it was effective and it worked, it saved us from almost certain relegation under Ince.

Also lets be honest here, Sam was working with other Manager's players wasn't he? Being here for just over a year he he didn't have the time or the resources to improve the squad much considering the Walker Trust had snapped the purse shut due to the imminent sale. Maybe if the venky's hadn't listened to wormtongue Anderson he might have had time to bring in the likes of Okocha, Anelka, Djorkaeff and probably the biggest influence on Bolton's play (imo) Ivan Campo. Remember Sam did persuade Salgado to sign didn't he?
One thing I do know is that we haven't had a better manager since Big Sam that's for certain sure.

I do have another story about his demise which I put down to Anderson's game plan too but it's only based on my opinion. I'm of out now so remind me later.

Urban myth!
I was gutted too - and knew it was a massive mistake (but even I didnt expect what followed to be as bad as it was) but you make it sound like there were mass protests - there wasnt!
Sure there were jokes about needing neck braces (inc by me on occassions) but overall we knew where our bread was buttered.
The ONLY reason he was ousted was scullduggery behind the scenes
And some bloody stupid owners - for billionaires they have made some impressive fuck ups

So the fans are in NO way to blame for this shit show - except maybe snowball guy :joy:

Get him sacked, he’s been here for about seven months now and we aren’t top of the league 30 points clear.

Sarcasm intended.

Kindly disagree this football is awful. Is it going to get us promoted? No and that’s the only way I’d accept it.

He seems to regress Players like Gallagher and Hedges and for me he’s a wonderful man but he can go at the end of this season.

I was against signing Gallagher after we'd seen him on loan and also after he'd failed to make an impression at Birmingham. I'm still baffled 4 years on what Mowbray saw in him. I'm sure if we'd signed a better player that we'd at least have made the play offs a number of times. Armstrong taking over as main striker after Graham left and dack got injured does rather bear my opinion out.
bbd too wasted at least two years for us.
I'm sure no manager will succeed until we find another Graham/ Armstrong who are clinical at their position.
