JDT did well with inheriting a good young squad that was developing nicely under the last manager. It was as we all know short of a decent target man but he's spewed it big time. Good riddance.

I think that's harsh personally. He lost Kaminski, Lenihan, Rothwell and Brereton from the Mowbray era. That's the entire spine of the team, even if some of them were severely under-rated by fans. And he wasn't given funds to replace them with players of a similar calibre.

I also think this is premature. He did a brilliant job last season, and was doing a brilliant job this season until the last 2 months. At the start of December we were 7th. So 1.5 seasons brilliant, 2 months terrible, and he's sacked. Very harsh IMO, whats happened to giving managers time to turn it around in football.

John Eustace another good honest type deserves much better than our lot.

He is leaving by ‘mutual consent’ therefore meaning no payoff nor legal claims from either side.

I agree, but that will be the media and legal terminology. In the last 2 or 3 weeks he has sounded like he was teasing and playing with the club hoping to get sacked.

JDT is a honourable man he does not need the cash.He offered to walk in the summer for nothing and management did not want that,he brought his family over to stay here,something TM would not do.Surely the powers to be saw that as he is here to stay.

I hear on the grapevine that JDT is being looked at by the Swedish national team. Accordingly to some Swedish newspaper he has agreed verbally to take the role. Funny how fast things can go if it’s true

Hang on a bit! Three of those players left for nowt under a FOC situation. We apparently received approx 3m for kaminsky but with running costs costing 15-20m pa im not surprised he wasn't given any funds.

He did not bring his family over. They only came during school holidays.

Well they’ve not exactly endowed themselves and when a manger can’t sign his own players. Hyam is appealing from what I’m told in the dressing room.

Outside of the Premier League, contract offers matter a lot more than transfer fees IMO. So I'm not saying JDT should have been given the transfer funds to replace them (after all Mowbray didn't spend much on Kaminski and Rothwell), but he should have been given the wages funds.

And given their replacements were:
Kaminski - Nobody
Lenihan - Hyam
Rothwell - Nobody (maybe Tronstad you could argue? But that was a year later)
Brereton - Ennis

I think that can be described as a significant wage cut, and JDT therefore operating with worse players than Mowbray.

Thank goodness. He has been taking our club for a ride recently seeking compensation whilst it looks like he had a job lined up elsewhere.

Lovely football on occasions but highly ineffective when it came to winning points.
