I've a kind of sympathy with the traffic wardens as they didn't paint the yellow lines did they? They are actually only doing their job and probably not allowed to use their discretion. The blame will be at the feet of the council or the local health authority I'd imagine. Somehow that area should be deemed and marked 'Ambulance only' areas with all ambulances allowed a certain time period 15-30 mins grace for example. It's a great story for the press and in that pic we can see two ambulances parked up band outside the entrance, but how about any others coming into pick up or drop off? For all we know others might be backed up to the main road waiting to load / unload people.

Sorry Drog but I don't agree. Anybody can use discretion in the way they do their job, although they should be instructed not to ticket ambulances waiting for patients in wheelchairs.

Agreed Al...for eg.
The ones where I'm working at the moment have said I'm ok in town centre and on double yellows.
When the wife was bad last year she had to get ambulance/taxi to great Ormond Street and driver said even tho it's bedlam the wardens are cool about dropping off and picking up

HMA in faded print so it won't be picked up readily. This nation is it's own worst enemy.

It's quite simple, do as I do and DONT BUY MEAT FROM A SUPERMARKET! Full bloody stop! Buy from a reputable butcher instead. The horsemeat scandal is just the tip of the iceberg I can assure you. Remember there was no nvCJD (BSE / Mad Cow disease) pre supermarkets and profit orientated burger joints and fast food outlets either. They all sell crap without exception.

ODB you've been buying horsemeat disguised as beef for bloody years from Tesco (and their ilk) so why are you still using them? btw 'Convenience' is no excuse.

btw Same applies to veg too.

Most super markets do, less fat, more money ;)

It's a con though, with the lower fat minces you get inferior results when cooking real food.
Not sure about that yoda. Lean is the expensive bit whilst dealing with fat is a huge problem that large retailers have. Getting rid of fat is a huge cost unless they can dispose of it through their own customers in clandestine fashion. Note the golden rule NEVER BBQ SUPERMARKET SAUSAGES! No matter what 'healthy / organic / old fashioned etc etc bullshit they put on the packet! They must all be full of fat as they give off clouds of thick acrid smoke which gives a horrible taste to everything else as well as pissing your neighbours off no end. Also I've been informed that smooth milkshakes get their 'smoothness' from the addition of emulsified fat products.o_O Cakes, sweets etc will all have fat content too but how much of that is natural and how much intentional waste disposal?
There are obvious reasons why the nation and particularly children have such obesity problems these days. When I was at school pre supermarkets / McD's / microwave meals et al one fat kid in every year was about the norm now as we all know the nation is full of fat kids and their parents....... oh and we all had tellies back then too so it aint that!

7% fat in mince will not make kids fat, the key is how it's cooked

Veg is a lot harder to come by from an independent than meat.
There are plenty of butchers shops around but not too many greengrocers.
If you know a good one, let me know as there aren't any round by me.
