The power source for our planet is and always has been the sun. Even Coal, oil and gas are simply stored solar energy. Harvesting the power direct from source has to be the way forward.

btw I've seen pics of the southern coastline before. Remarkable geographical features. Must have been one of Slartibartfast's greatest achievements and second only to his design for the coast of Norway.

Probably all sounds a bit tame to davebirch.

Actually, a shark would never do that.
They stay under water and come up at the prey.
It could be that that shark was from Burnley and was biting at thin air.

Always remember that a sharks domain is the sea. I won't bother them in the sea, if they don't bother me on land.

The only sure way I know to not get attacked by a shark is to sit under a tree!

The South Pennines Park anybody?

My first reaction was surprise and a bit of cynicism. However, after looking at the proposals, and the inclusion of the stunning moorland that inspired the Bronte sisters, the bleakness of Heptonstall that tragically drew Sylvia Plath, and the raw natural terrain clashing with ingrained industry that framed the work of Ted Hughes, my thoughts now are - 'why not?':

Rather reminds me of the old Lanky saying......
"Between th'hiils all bleak and barren lies dirty scruffy little Darren.

Missed the last few Saturday matches, as I've decided to take the advice of John Muir, and been heading up into the hills . Sure I'll be back in front of the laptop with a pint soon, but the weather was too great to resist this weekend:

I love my fell walking and long distance walks. I did the Coastal Camino from Porto to Santiago a couple of years ago and am planning to do Lisbon to Porto this coming May.

I have ticked off Kilimanjaro and Mount Toubkal and will be in Southern Chile 🇨🇱/ Patagonia as well next year.

But in Chile you'll be doing your Del Boy impersonation with suitcases of Diaz shirts.
You know it makes sense!
