Losing Dack would be like losing Alan Shearer all over again. I hope we keep him and steal Armstrong from Newcastle too. Dreams cost nothing.

If we are as we are ,a selling club i would sell Dack, we get a 40% sell on clause and 10 million I would be happy. But if the prunes of pune keep him and invest I would be over the moon.

John Williams preferred the term 'Trading club'. Both terms just about sum up the entire football world away from the Etihad, Bernabau and PSG.

Odd that the Chinese have quietened off recently. Chinese football....... 'The beast from the east' must be gathering it's forces somewhere.

I think realistically we will lose Dack, Lenihan and maybe Raya in the summer.
All would be classed as good business unfortunately, and we could maybe get £10m? which would fund another season?

Its the world we live in now!!

I'd like to think that they will stay if we are promoted. I can't see many Premier League teams apart from the bargain basement boys being interested in any of them based on a few good performances in the lower leagues. Apart from Burnley most do their shopping abroad. Biggest danger will come from newly relegated teams with pots of parachute money.

I must say that up to now in terms of deterring potential suitors for our players away the Rao's have done pretty good.

That's how I see it too Gord. We know that the Venkys are hard bargainers and hopefully none of the Championship clubs will match their expectations. I don't think we need fear the Premier League clubs even the bargain basement ones like Burnley.
It's hard to read the owners intentions at the moment. If they show the ambition that they have this season who knows what they will do.

Without sounding hypocritical, I agree with you both, but unless Venkys show some real intent to kick on. (which historically they haven't) players like Dack,Lenihan and Raya, who are all young (and presumably ambitious) will want to further their careers

I would suggest that promotion and moving up a division with the probability of a pay rise IS furthering their careers.
