Ditto but unfortunately it'll count for nowt and just let Labour in.
Every cloud has a silver lining. 😉

The next government cannot be worse than the successive rubbish served up under successive incompetent buffoons that have helped drive the country into the ground. This has been going on for years. Forget politics and ideals. A group of competent people will do for now.

Well that rules out the three main parties doesn't it?
How do you know if the others haven't had a go for thirteen years? The Tories being a set of limited, talentless, blustering buffoons does not mean that the other two can't be any better. Anybody wanting more of the same needs to shake up.

I don't want more of the same but the other two couldn't run a bath never mind a nation. The biggest threat to the tories isn't labour it's the Tory voters from last time who simply cannot bring themselves to vote Tory again and will probably abstain. Quite right too! I've never known such a godawful selection as the current choices. A curse on the Career politicians who have brought us to this pathetic state. Unfortunately the state of the nation is a direct consequence of the state of the politicians.

Now Labour frontbencher who branded Rule Britannia 'alienating' says historic green benches in Commons are sexist and should be replaced because they are too big for women (msn.com)

Normally I'd laugh it all off, but they are potentially the next government.
I had a thought the other day, why not reduce the number of MP's, it might concentrate the level of common sense into the chamber.
A second thought was to implement the thoughts of Russell Braddon in The Year of the Angry Rabbit, where by he would limit parliament (Au version) to six of the country's best debaters to either side.

This summary in Wikipedia explains it and a few other observations of politicians.

I've long held that the number of sitting mp's should be greatly reduced. Halved even for starters. For example .... wtf does Blackburn's do? With phones, internet tech, transport facilities surely there should be a reduction in numbers?
Every other long standing industry and business has cut staff levels through necessity and it's only a case of turkeys voting for Christmas that is preventing such now.

As for that silly thangan debonair saying rule Britannia upsets a lot of people .... well it inspires an awful lot more doesn't it? I'd have swapped "God save the queen / king for rule Britannia when QE 2 passed away. Let's be honest, who the hell is daft enough to believe in a cloud fairy these days?

S'funny though isn't it? Parents and teachers taught us there was a Father Christmas, a Tooth fairy and a God and Angels and all that. All mythical beings. Santa and the Tooth fairy soon were disproved yet for some reason a number of people still would like or rather need to believe in a God of sorts to help them through life. Personally I put it down to a need to believe in eternal life as the thought of slowly rotting into putrefied liquid in a box isn't all that palatable to very many.

I was 13 when I was given my first big decision by my parents: "Continue going to church or get a Sunday 'paper round." I didn't clock onto it at the time, but I later wondered how seriously they took religion if they were happy for me to throw it away for a 'paper round. I chose the thing I could touch, see, and use - money.

No problem with religions in general, by the way. People should be free to do what they want and live how they like provided it's within the law, just as with non-religious folk. To each their own.

Maybe gooz, except for religiojns that promise a life after death, they are the really dangerous ones. They are the ones that attract the nutters, the ones who are daft enough to believe in such.

I would love to live on (in soul) for longer than whatever limited time I'm given on this planet. I could fix all your IT woes given a few eternities.

Forget about religion. The bigger problem countries like Britain faces is poor governance. Doesn't matter whether it's blue or red, governments lie to protect themselves, and make incredibly stupid decisions. I do wonder if politics in its current form is shot.

It is shot. It is all about single issue politics…..the mad politics of student unions.

Has my favourite MP Lee Anderson done the right thing by putting his principles before his party? I'd say so looking at the shower that the Tory party has become. This could be like another SDP / Labour situation if more join him.
Anderson imo was the tories last chance of turning the tables for the next election after they have abandoned the voters of the red wall in particular and the north in general. He should be in no 10 instead of soppysunak!

Folk like you always rediscover religion when the death bed approaches.

Well he’s been in three parties so far. Who next for him, the Liberals?
