George Galloway is the biggest opportunist in British politics today. Anne Widdecombe said Galloway's victory was won on the back of a problem that the UK is barely involved with, but she is unconvinced he will actually do anything to improve Rochdale.
Galloway will be gone from Rochdale as quickly as he arrived. This was purely a protest vote that will grow tired when those who voted for him realise that nothing has changed.
I don't hold a great deal of love for today's Paxton-wannabe journalists and media outlets that are full of instant fluff and nonsensical drama, but I felt a little bit afraid for the Sky News reporter that was interviewing Galloway after his victory. His supporters slowly, but surely, surrounded him and started waving in his face and getting a bit aggeressive. You could tell the reporter was intimidated and feared what could have happened. Some form of physical assault from Galloway's angry mob wouldn't have surprised me.
