Rovers In The Papers & Media

Old Darwen Blue

Prediction Champion 2021, 2022 & 2023
“However, Rovers eventually succumbed to the drop in 2012, which caused Salgado to depart the team.””

No Rovers fan would say that about Salgado We all know why he left.

Nowt much new there but what malicious and agenda'd bastards Anderson and Keane were and it's obvious that Nelsen like so many players was a massive fan of Big Sam and his methods. Amazing why Sam's unpopularity spread like a virus amongst the thousands of vacuous and noisy footballing know nowts across the land.

An excellent article by Elliot Jackson, the new Rovers reporter at the LT. One of the best reads in the LT for a long time. Enjoy……
I admire Nelsen for just getting on with what happened and moving on. It's a good example that I wish others would follow instead of getting outraged on behalf of others. It sounds like he's extremely grateful for the career he had and the rewards that came with it. Good lad.

Great article which brought back lots of happy memories. Who was the heartless CEO who told him to leave the club in that awful manner? Is it JA? I can’t believe that a tough Kiwi like Ryan wouldn’t have got some choice words in to this guy. Then getting a message from Redknapp at the same time!

Paul Hunt was the Deputy CEO at the time. I cannot find any mention of the CEO, but I think a lot of things point to it being Jerome Anderson.
  • Anderson represented Steve Kean;
  • Anderson's son, Myles, was given a contract when he was clearly out of his depth;
  • Anuradha Desai stated that John Williams "struggled to accept Jerome's role at the club", suggesting that Anderson was more than just an advisor;
  • Ryan Nelsen stated that the CEO who told him that his wages were to be cut by 50% was at Brockhall (Andersen told Sky Sports that he had been living, sleeping, and eating there 24/7 in his emotional outburst);
  • If Andersen was officially unveiled as the CEO, it would have caused huge unrest among the supporters.

Kean and Anderson were right crooked bastards weren't they? The following was in an email that I sent to the Mirror after one of their writers nominated Kean for Manager of the Season. It was published in my name in the Mirror. I won't bore you all with it again but this was an example of the lies that our Manager manufactured back then,

Jan 29th 2012 just before transfer deadline day
"Steve Kean on Ryan Nelsen: “He's in a bad way. I've just been to see him. He's in traction. We need experienced players in the team and I can't wait to get him back, but I doubt he'll be let out before the end of the season."
Gordon says: Two day's later on Thursday Nelsen signed for Spurs and two days after that Nelsen made his debut for Spurs!

:mad:

I know. I don't subscribe but the link was sent to me and it works fine. When I cut and paste it takes me to a pay site.:confused: It's a good read and I could serialise it with pics should anybody want.

This is what happens when TV takes over the game unfortunately. The fans are irrelevant. Mind you there’s something about a local derby under the floodlights.

Norwich!!!! 12pm kick off - just proves fans don't matter
Traffic might be a little easier on a Sunday morning but still a VERY early start - looks like I miss out on Carrow Rd again - maybe next year
