Only to be expected really. I doubt even the most dedicated blue and white expected us to beat them. Obviously I'm in no position to comment not having seen the match but the stark staring stat was 0 shots on target.

Just grateful that Dyche didnt get them to up it a gear in 2nd half or it could have avenged the famous 5-0.
Dont know what Mowbray's plan was for the second half but I would like him to tell us.

We did not deserve anything from tha game.

A bit of huff and puff for the first 20 minutes then B/ley dominate the game. They treated the 2nd half like a training game we were that bad....and we only had one attempt on goal.

MK Dons is a bigger game......gulp - how far have we fallen.

Men against Boys, after the first 15/20 mins there was only one team in it.
As somebody posted previously Whittingham is the new Murphy, no effort or interest and kept doing the "snooker myself lazy bastard tactic"
Unlike others I felt there was a bit of effort (from some, Williams,Bennett,Caddis,Chapman,Smallwood and Feeney)but the gulf in class was very apparent

I noticed Rovers never even updated the match players on the scoreboard when Samuel and othe B/ley players came on. Must be due to the Radio Rovers staff getting sacked.

I guess it was like a race between a mini and a ferrari. :(

Bitter as we all are I guess we have to congratulate BFC. They have done it the right way for sure.... being niggardly but the sooner some big club entices Dyche away the better.

btw Murphy was gobbing off about the greed of modern footballers on the radio this week!

Appaling. Fact so many changes after HT to shape and personnel means once again TM got it wrong. I was surprised as I was expecting 4-1 burnley. Mowbray beginning to look on borrowed time, i like the guy but he looks lost, poor start to the season.

We are nowhere near technically but no need for a heart the size of a pea, no desire no want. Worrying

Is it only me who spots irony in these two pictures? I guess what goes around comes around eh? of those Pity he didn't have a tea towel around his head or those armed police might have saved us any further humiliation.

btw question for those that were there..... when Burnley fans were singing 'you're so shit it's unbelievable' why didn't the rovers fans join in en masse with 'we're so shit it's unbelievable'?

Did you go to the match because from where I was sitting the scoreboard on the ground was updated immediately there were substitutions and as far as I was concerned there was no lack of trying from the Rovers players, they were simply outclassed. It was to be expected really we are a third division side with third division players that have only just got together and they have one or two Premiership quality players. One observation I would make is that Burnley were not THAT good and will win nothing with that team. If I were a betting man I would have a Chaddy on them being relegated at the end of the season.

I did Alan and the lads I go with all commented that the team sheets were not updated for either teams after the 1st substitutions. It was as if Samuel did not play ;)

Al,

I agree – Burnley were dire and ripe for a plucky defeat however once again Tony Mowbray was found wanting tactically, the players he’s signed he’s no idea what to do with and Peter Whittingham was a disgrace (Did we get a receipt?) Our players attitude bar Chapman, Mulgrew and Raya was appalling. Heads were down and after 60 mins they just gave up. It’s inexcusable that they cannot replicate or match the same levels of desire and heart. Technically Burnley were far superior and looked fitter. I watched with a Burnley pal and even he was shocked how easy it was for them to string passes together and resorted to our four or five passes along the backline before a hoooooof as un “Mowbray” like. We looked half arssed and un motivated (Body language wise) all evening and the fans look like they’ve had enough. More than half empty home stands, very very quiet from those still attending.

Chapman – Looks like he’s got pace and confidence to beat a man. Liked the look of him. 6/10

Feeney – Dreadful, he’s a slow in his mind as he looks. Pace and can sometimes cross but it’s as if his feet are to quick for his mind. He didn’t look bothered and one of our top earners, get rid of him asap. 3/10

Raya – impresses me and seems to be able to bounce back from a mistake far better than when he first appeared under GB, awful for the first goal, lack of communication and coming out. 6/10

Williams- Centre half playing left back, he’s not quick enough to go forward and dosen’t like too. He can’t head, he’s reasonably okay in a tackle but he drifts so tight to Mulgrew we get exposed by the long ball over the top and into the space behind him time after time after time. 4/10

Mulgrew – Everything we need and lack from everyone else. Wish he was quicker and yelled a bit more during the game though. 8/10

Ward – I didn’t think he was too bad but he looks like he’s knacked himself physically. Will be okay at L1 but need to blood Wharton in who could learn from his as a “professional” anyways. He’s quite composed on the ball, not a hoofer but has anyone seen him tackle? 6/10

Caddis – Slow and cumbersome, gets too tight to the man and easily beaten, first rule of a full back? Don’t allow them to get crosses in your box. FAIL. 5/10

Whittingham – I didn’t realise he was playing till he went to take a freekick on around 60 mins before being subbed. I must have been the only one against his signing but he’s bloody poor, 3/10.

Smallwood – Slowly winning me over, Bit physical which I like to see, snaps into people. Struggles holding that line a bit further up. 7/10

Gladwin – Oh my another in the Whittingham camp, he looked lost out there. He’s got a very good touch but that’s about it. 3/10

Antonsson – Awful, simply dreadful. No Pace, Not big enough strength or height wise to play a lone role, what on earth possesd TM to play him there in that system? Tarkowski won’t have an easier evening. 2/10

SUBS

Bennett – My favourite player but should have netted. He ended last year playing well and he’s not hit those heights again. 6/10

Samuel – I remember recommending this bloke on BRFCS and I knew he’d be a star for us, great control, quicker than I thought he was and probably our only striker carrying a threat atm. 6/10

Conway – Should have started, probably our only real “footballer” left, he’s still going down the wings and getting at people but a lack of pace means he can’t get away. He’d do well looking at Glen Little what he did at that age. 6/10

SUBS
Bennett – My favourite player but should have netted.

OMG!!! in a nutshell that is where we are at! tbh I doubt he'd edge his way into midfield past Keith Andrews just a little while ago.

Il be honest he's a very hardworking honest player, looked good tail end last season but appears to be lost in the tactics of Mowbray. After the Venkys turnover of players he's one of only a few who I think is truly appreciative of playing for BRFC and a true rare professional.

My question mark over his head is that Bennett definitely did try hard at the end of last season BUT he only started when the writing was on the wall! No idea how that impacted the terms of his contract but it'd interest me to know.
