Huddersfield now playing on linington's leniency towards them.

With 68% possession we are lucky to still be in this game on goal scoring chances.

Same old same old.

We easily won the possession again, but I am not sure how long they can bleat about that as we lost 3-1 on "clear-cut chances".

I am thinking by that they mean - the one dragged along the ground past the right hand post when clean through, the save from Pears when he came out and closed down the guy on a one and one, and that appalling sliced side foot past the right hand post after a breakaway low cross from the right.
Our clear-cut chance I am presuming that it was Sammy at the end when it bounced off him and went wide.

The good news is that it is another point and another game chalked off with us moving up a place and also the first time in ages that our keeper hasn't given a goal away.

Pears
A good first game back from injury. Pulled off a great save against Healey in the second half to stop us from going behind. Looked reasonably commanding and confident. Keeps the shirt while Wahlstedt takes a breather and gets back to it.

Brittain
Best efforts came late on in the game with a shot from outside the box and a low cross that could have gone anywhere, but he was largely poor. Passes didn't reach their targets, and looked leggy and lethargic.

Carter
Looked assured until his hamstring injury. Doesn't look serious, so hopefully just a twinge that will see him back in the next few weeks.

Hyam
Best performance of his season. Was solid, and covered a lot of ground to put Kosumu (spelling?) under pressure in the second-half to force a dragged shot. We really need last season's Dominic Hyam back, and hopefully he is.

Pickering
Solid. I like him as part of a back three than as a wing-back. Showed some good experience and has aged early in a good way. Looks like his season might be over judging by his reaction to his hamstring injury.

Chrisene
A solid display, but I reckon he has more to show. Played it very safe.

Tronstad
Although one of his poorer games, he never has a bad game. One or two touches evaded him, and I think his early yellow card hindered him for the rest of the game. Still quite good.

A Wharton
Man of the Match by a country mile. Perfect passing. Perfect goal after a mistake by the usually reliable Hogg. Good stuff.

Garrett
Another typical showing from him. Likes to get forward and involved. Starting to show real value.

Szmodics
Suspect he is on a hangover from illness. Not his usual self, although I wonder if Gallagher's presence had something to do with that.

Gallagher
Gave us a good presence and physicality up top. Won most of his headers except for the important one against Helik. Otherwise worked hard as usual. A good showing for his first start for four months.

As for the subs...

S Wharton
Gave us a good presence at the back. Composed and simple on the ball.

Moran
Ineffective.

Telalović
Worked hard, held up the ball well, and mucked in with defensive duties.

Rankin-Costello
Almost absent from the negativity of the last couple of months and breathed fresh air into the team. Got forward well, and defended well. Must replace the fatigued Brittain in the next game.

Sigurddson
Ineffective.

I'm not surprised we didn't win, and although Huddersfield could have had a couple more, I thought we were the most solid I've seen in the last month, so there is something to take, along with the point. A few of our players are returning from injury, and I think they will click much better in the upcoming games.

The most annoying thing is that Sorba Thomas, who was quite poor for us when he arrived on loan last season, looks to be an absolute world-beater at Huddersfield. Maybe it's just against us!
