I only just noticed on the replay that there were boos at the end of the game.
……and also at half time after we had played a decent 45 (should that be 52) minutes. Poor from Rovers ‘fans’.

Disappointing result but not the worst performance and it's pretty apparent that the confidence among the players is understandably low. I'll stick my neck out and say I'm not really worried about a relegation battle, I believe we have enough to comfortably avoid it.... but we'll see.

One thing I wanted to mention re the booing and the fans (everyone knows I like to get on my soap box about it),and it's something I've mentioned before, but it's my experience in decades of following the Rovers home and away, that the most vociferous booers and moaners are almost always the LEAST vociferous when it comes to positively backing the side. If I'm stood near someone that's giving his all and getting behind the team and then at some stage he loses it and has a good moan, fair enough, he cares about the club and is what I would call a balanced fan.

Almost without exception though that is not my experience, the worst negative miserable booing arse wipes will generally sit in silence and only seem to find their voices when there's something to whinge about. There is a balance that a fan should aim for, as much backing and positivity during the games and the picking the right times to give their opinions on the club if they're unhappy. I know I'm on the happy clapping side and that can be unhealthy as it tends to lead to a head in the sand outlook, but they are few and far between at the Rovers, the amount at the other extreme is fucking frightening. If you're one of those and have the view that you pay your money so you can voice your opinions, I would say, unless you're using the same amount of positive energy and getting behind the team in bad times, then no you're not entitled to say fuck all and kindly stay at home and keep your negative energy to your cunting self.

I also wanted to mention the Palace fans protest at Arsenal today. On one hand I thought to myself it was a bit rich for the fans of a club the size of Palace, that have been a constant in the Premier for a long while, complaining about their plight. There are a good few bigger clubs than Palace that would happily swap places with them or their last couple of decades. On the other hand I thought the way they did it was really classy. Three nil down midway through the second half, they didn't reveal their banners until right near the end. If they're unhappy they could have unfurled them when they went 1nil down or certainly 3 nil down but chose, brilliantly, to back their team and wait until all hope had gone. A good protest from some good balanced fans.

Soap box away for a week.

1SG you’re absolutely spot on. There Is a significant section of Rovers fans that get their kicks on match days by criticising and moaning about the team.I go back to the late fifties when the whingeing was apparent even then. I think it’s a Blackburn trait which had its origins in the mills when working conditions were harsh but the noise of the machines made it difficult to get ones moaning in during working hours!
It was only on a Saturday afternoon at Ewood that if things weren’t right on the pitch then the criticism started. It was a way to get rid of all their frustrations on to the 11 guys on the pitch.
I‘ll repeat the comment that Jimmy Armfield made about Rovers fans that they are a jury rather than supporters.
Whenever I went to an away ground which isn’t often these days I was always struck by the fervour of the home fans. Especially at Plymouth this season it was amazing how the home crowd built up the atmosphere.
I still get emotional when I think of the VE Day game v Newcastle when the crowd in the second half produced a wall,of noise in support of the team but that unfortunately is a rare occurrence.
It must be stressful for the players playing at Ewood these days as the atmosphere is not very positive. I suppose the events post Venkys have not helped the situation.

Thought that was Hyam, no wait a minute Brittan,,,Oh sorry Christene
Ok I'll ask again
Which player is ok?
Mate. He didn’t make one move into space going forwards. Every ball played to him got cut back and passed back.
It was like watching the days of Bruno Berner playing there. Totally unsuited.

Callum Britain is another shocking player too your right. Completely devoid of any footballing brain.

Why have we got the lad Georgie Gent out on loan at Motherwell, Batty in reserve and bring this chap in?

we have some great players; the Wharton’s, JRC, Carter, Gally. That okay for you?

The boos at HT were a tad strange. We didn’t played that badly. It seemed to be about 5 seconds of booing then quickly drowned out.

He’s dog shit.
He hasn’t done anything. He’s actually stopped our play and disabled us down that left hand side
I thought Chrisene got into some good attacking positions down the left hand side, particularly in the first half, but perhaps nerves made him cut back the ball too much. I've read good things about him, so hopefully he will play more freely soon. We'll no doubt be seeing a lot more of him now that Pickering is going to be out for a while.

Every move broke down with him, in the first half we were crying out for someone to run the ball into the space, hopefully he improves with Pickering out.

I think what Steve is getting at is you have rubbished numerous players meaning we have no team left. What would your starting 11 be? I quite like the three at the back tactics

I really cant call a lad who is at a decent premier team but he was very nervous yesterday. It does nag at me when we loan young players from premier teams and they are holding back our own prospects. But the days have gone when you can loan experinced players because of the silly 9 on the bench rule and 5 subs.

I thought 3 at the back worked well in the first half; it certainly gave us some width and a few decent balls went into the box. In the 2nd half we reverted to type. Chrisine also looked pretty good to me in the first half, his real weakness was his failure to take players on and attack into the penalty box but he should improve with more game time.

Did anyone else think it was a clear penalty for us in the first half, I would be interested to hear what those of you thought who watched on tv and the the benefit of replays of the event.

If anyone sits in the JW upper Darwen End side would have had a perfect view TV or dodgy streams are not the best views.

I was incensed and I had taken two Huddersfield supporters who both thought it was a clear pen. Looks like one too on these extended highlights.
I noticed Gallagher walking off with Linington at HT both obviously discussing the decision to some length. From my observation / body language etc Gally clearly knew that he'd been fouled. A possible reason for Linington waving it away was that it would have been a certain red card although that ISN'T a valid reason.
Moving on 10 fouls given against the Rovers and only 4 against Huddersfield. How does that figure when we had 67% possession and Hudders were obviously having to make far more tackles? Linington was shocking today and wtf was going on when he ignored the linesman's flag I don't know.

As for the Huddersfield fans with us and more in the Premier Suite afterwards none could understand ...

a. our reluctance to shoot.
and
b. our prediliction to attack at speed and then in the last third to slow the play down by pissing about with triangles and allowing the defence to organise themselves.
c. why despite our possession and claimed passing game why the most creative forward pass of our day was made by their skipper Hogg.

In fairness we had the lions share of possession yet Huddersfield 4th from bottom had by far the better chances and should really have won. This has been going on all season! I could really do with a 10 minute chat with Tommasson!

The most annoying thing is that Sorba Thomas, who was quite poor for us when he arrived on loan last season, looks to be an absolute world-beater at Huddersfield. Maybe it's just against us!
The two Huddersfield fans that I was with think he's bloody awful! As far as I can see he has one strong point, an ability to run down the wing and deliver a dangerous cross. Yesterday playing 3 at the back plus the early injuries to Carter and Pickering allowed him too much time and space to play to his strength and JDT did nothing to counter it. Siggurdson being the last player that I'd look to to help out defending against a flying winger.

btw I don't think Carter has a hamstring injury. I might be wrong but I saw him with his ankle strapped and on crutches. If I was to guess I'd say he went over on his ankle and damaged his ligaments.
Pickering on the other hand was distraught when he realised the extent of his hammy.

Chrisene? Early days but he hardly hit the ground running on his debut did he? I note that he and Ayari who we haven't seen yet are both just 20. I'd have thought a bit of experience might have been a better bet to bring into an already young and sometimes naive squad to see out our season.

Subs.... Why take off one of our best players? Garrett was having a strong game imo and would have been in my top 3 choices for MoM.

How much game time are you destroying this lad on?
Gooze is spot on = he got wide and tried to play down the line - what people are forgetting (or seem to be) - the other teams have our tactics sussed - they generally try to exploit our left side - why? because Pick doesnt get enough support/cover - maybe this lad will give us that cover?
JDT was complaining we dont/didnt make enough runs - Gally for one, made loads, but unlike training (at 70% commitment - at best!) our midfielders get closed down and cant just play it through
I bet at Brockhall it looks great - player runs through - AW pings it in to them - goal!!
Britain was closed down super quick - and often doubled up on - opposition teams know they cant give him room - so yea!! He doesnt look like Messi because, guess what, there is only ONE fucking Messi
Tronstad made two errors yesterday - other than that, he plays like Kante (not as good obviously - not sure anyone was) but guess what, our moaners pick up on it- (one was an under played pass - one was a slight mis-read of the spin on the ball as he tried to play around the defender)
He was head and shoulders MOM (again!)

You took away fans in a home end? Hmm.
