Penalty all day long but so are many such incidents which aren't given.

Ooops .... and to think we were laughing at pne just a few hours ago.😖
I have to say Leicester were my favourites for promotion from the start.

Still early days. But the QPR game next Saturday is already starting to look like a 6 pointer especially if we don't shock Coventry in midweek.

Too easy for Leicester City. They barely broke a sweat and ripped us to shreds on the counter-attack, in and amongst some dreadful defending and silly mistakes.

Pears
It looks like he picked up a metatarsal injury. Feel as though he could have made himself bigger at the near-post for Vardy's goal. Yet again, receives little protection in front of him.

Brittain
Played well again. He is good at working in tight spaces, and marauded forward well. Don't think he did too much wrong defensively. With little else to choose from, he was my Man of the Match.

Hyam
Disappointing again. It feels as though he's been going through the motions so far this season. He's a shadow of the player he was last season. Does he regret moving here?

Carter
Thought he was decent until the silly pull on the shirt to give away a penalty. There is no point shaking your head. The ball was easily headed clear, and you killed any chance of us getting anything from the game. Unfortunately, my Villain of the Match.

Pickering
Did OK, but as usual, I find him ineffectual.

Travis
Played well, and chased the ball down well for what turned out to be our consolation goal. Didn't seem to tire as much as he has in most games so far this season.

A Wharton
Good passing but, once again, makes some silly mistakes to put is in bother. His mistake in midfield ultimately led to Leicester's penalty. You can perhaps get away with one mistake, but not if somebody else makes another.

Moran
Another good game with some tidy touches. A danger going forward. We will hopefully see the best of him soon.

Sigurdsson
Off the pace today. A few loose touches and passes. He looked disappointed with himself when he was substituted.

Szmodics
Took our goal well. Perhaps should have a had a second on the volley in the second half. Always gives his all.

Markanday
Spritely, and a real danger to the opposition. He does well to track back with his defensive duties, but he is very lightweight and doesn't often come out on top in 50/50s.

As for the subs...

Wahlstedt
Off the back of what I read about him against Cardiff City, he didn't cover himself in glory. Went the wrong way for their penalty, gave a dangerous pass or two, and was small and weak for Leicester's fourth goal. Not promising, so far, but we are going to have to hope he comes as good as the Pears-haters that have never watched him say he is.

Rankin-Costello
Didn't notice him.

Telalović
Same story with a short cameo of hustling and bustling. Did OK, but I'm not sure what he can do for us at 4-1 down. He needs match fitness. It's October. The transfer window ended a month ago. It's about time our transfer window signings are match-fit.

Dolan
Did OK. Drove us forward.

Tronstad
Didn't notice him.

Did I miss anyone?

While we all generally think Tomasson has done a good job, this has to be a league low point for him. We all know the problem of not having a striker to put the ball in the onion bag, but I really think the last few league games have shown the worst in his tactics. When we get to the final third and pass it to death to wait for an opening, a single mistake sees the opposition slice our threadbare midfield and defence wide open too easily. Against a team like Leicester, I think that's suicidal. I am really not bothered about so-called entertaining football. I appreciate that players are working as hard as they can, but too often, we're not working smartly. That's down to Tomasson to sort out in my view. We can't keep playing the same way week in week out, conceding three and four goals at a canter. Something needs to change. Will Tomasson be pragmatic enough to recognise this?

A harsh lesson today. We played well in patches but lacked a cutting edge which isn’t surprising when we have no striker on the pitch.
Our midfield is too open and when an attacking move breaks down good teams just slice through us. We need 3 in there. We’ve now conceded the most goals in the league which is a worry.
Well done to Chris Sutton who pulled no punches at the end by saying that the club is now a “developmental one” and “the only ambition is to avoid relegation”. He was feeling sorry for the fans at the state the club is now in.

I think it's time to get Tronstad in there to shore things up. Like us, Coventry City are probably better than their league position suggests, but we have to stop the rot and get some confidence that we're not going to ship three every game. I really think Hyam deserves to be axed for the time being. He has been poor this season, and doesn't appear to lead the defence. The problem is that I think his replacement is the very young Hill. We're a bit stuck in that department.

On the plus side, I just realised that Carter was very lucky to not be sent-off for the shirt-pulling. We just need to pick up the pieces, learn a few lessons, and move on. I want to see a solid Rovers rather than one that is overly-determined to entertain supporters. While I can see the exciting passages of play, I don't want to walk away from games being soundly beaten with a few goals or more conceded. It needs to stop, but I doubt Tomasson will change his mentality of trying to score one more than the opposition because it's a bit naive when the quality of opposition is vastly superior.

I think gooz made some spot on comments. We are trying to play expansive and attractive football but the mistakes, the final pass and the finish lets us down. Leicester did not even get out of 2nd gear today, if they did we would have looked like Harrogate v Rovers.

Attendance: 15,937 (3,270 away)

I am not a happy bunny.

A few thoughts on today's game. I agree with a lot of what has already been posted tbh. Thought our best players on the day were Brittain, Moran and maybe Travis but in all honesty we were just beaten by a better and stronger side despite us again playing some very neat football at times.

I also agree that Hyam has been a shadow of himself from last season for whatever reason but despite us shipping goals for fun I actually think as individuals our back 4 is not too bad. I like Carter and Hyam (when back to form) and the 2 full backs are solid if not spectacular in Pickering's case.

Again as has already been said it looks like the biggest problem in our system at the moment is how easy it is for opposition teams to break on us and turn defence into attack without having to do anything special. I love Wharton but he's 18 and has been nowhere near the player he showed in glimpses last season, maybe he needs a short break to recharge and go again? I still see him as our greatest asset and I'm sure he'll show it for a sustained period before too long.

Off the pitch I sat in W01 today for the first time this season and it's a shadow of it's former self. It seems like there's been a cull of a lot of the hardcore singers by the club and it very much looks like the Rovers don't really want any form of singing section, certainly not near to the away fans and it was sad to see. Today, just before half time, 2 security guards were sent up to the section because Sky (fecking SKY fuck off and take your money with you) had complained about fans banging on the boards at the back of the stands. The bloke stood next to me - who never misses a match and is an exemplary Rovers fanatic - was approached in the 2nd half and basically warned if he did it again he'd be out!

What's the game come to? Chucking fans out for banging on boards! It's ridiculous and leaves me with such a bad taste in my mouth, with the club, with the knobs at Sky, with football in general. I don't want to live in the past but this isn't the game I fell in love with growing up, I've said it before, by largely cleaning up the hooligan problem that obviously needed doing, the game, the general matchday experience, has lost so much in the process.

Back to the footy, I really don't see us being anywhere near a relegation battle this season but it looks like the top 6 is a distant if not impossible dream.

In fact the Sky team commented on the “board banging” at half time but turned it around by saying that the fans were clamouring for our hero Chris Sutton! There was no hint of any criticism of Rovers fans at all.

Today was relegation football. I hope Wednesday away at Coventry is better.

Last season at Coventry was appalling stuff. Can we get any worse? Can we turn around our ship?

If any player deserves a chance it has to be Garret.I would playJRC right back and Brittian left back. Hill has to get a game Hyam would be my pick to drop out. Cant say Leo fills me with confidence but that what happens when the manager does not pick his players.
