A couple of years ago - before injury and a massive loss of form
Our return when JRC played was much higher ( a bit like Gallagher now)
Any coincidence in our recent results? Gallagher is injured and would feature if fit (I assume) but JRC had done nothing wrong imo and should be playing

As for today, our man for man, force a mistake tactic, left us wide open when they got past the press - which they did (a lot) and our midfield is left upfield floundering to get back
They look a class above - and Vardy is premier class, and it showed - his goal was superb

Moran MOM, He ghosted past people for fun. Brittan and Pickering didnt do much wrong for me. If we could just unearth an N'gola Kante to protect our back line - or maybe Travis?? - just a thought ;)

Yet again it’s clear to even the clueless that when Sam Gallagher plays we play better collectively. JDT has to sort that defence out, I agree that Hill needs a chance, maybe get Scott Wharton back in there too. The injury to Pears sadly may be a blessing in disguise in my opinion.

"LCFC stewards were being bacons again at the end (shock).

Our fans are very self critical on here about atmosphere and rightly so sometimes but my god some of the home support in the championship is dire. The Blackburn support felt like a pre season friendly that none of them were arsed about. I don’t think it’ll ever get that bad at Leicester.

Loudest chant sang by every team this year has been about Vardys wife which turns out even more embarrassing when he scores against them."

"Over the left side of the stand we were singing "there's only 12 of you singing" to their fans. I counted and it was actually 11! Never seen such quiet home fans in all my life!"

Just a couple of comments from the Leicester forum again showing our support at Ewood is a continuing blight on our proud club. Lots of home support is now pretty poor in comparison to what it once was but ours has reached embarrassing levels and has no sign of picking up any time soon.

One should not confuse support with chanting and singing. Certainly it provides an atmosphere but that's about it.

We've been over this Drog and you seem pretty defensive about the whole situation. I'm not saying that you need the whole ground, including the older generation, getting on their feet and making a racket, that was never the case even in the terrace days.

I'll use you as an example. Obviously I don't know you personally but I would class you as a very good Rovers fanatic, regardless of whether you sing on a match day or not. You like to focus generally on the positives about the club, you attend all the home games and you run a forum that's dedicated to our club. You're doubtless a very proud Rovers fan.

My argument is that the club needs a certain percentage of fans that are singers, that are no more passionate about the club than you are, but like a sing song on matchdays. This is were the Rovers are massively lacking for some reason and why our support quite rightly gets the stick it gets.

Ewood has never been a cauldron of noise in all my years of watching the Rovers. We have always been criticised for our lack of atmosphere. The only exception is the VE Day match against Newcastle in 1995 when even the commentators talked of the “wall of noise” when everyone of us forgot our reticence and shouted our support to the rooftops! A passionate Rovers fan is as passionate as any other passionate fan but maybe youre right 1SG we don’t generally sing! Maybe it’s a Blackburn thing within the town, a natural reluctance to display emotion?
Crowd support is a massive psychological boost to the team but if the aura around the club is negative at present this will feed into the crowd and the crowd becomes a bystander rather than an influencer. I’m often amazed about how well some of our players perform given the match day atmosphere at Ewood on occasions.

Nobody had ever heard of influencers back in '95 Tony.

I put the poor atmosphere down to the early ridiculous kick off. I think a lot of fans were still asleep! I’m sure the Leicester fans wanted revenge for what happened in March when our fan’s totally took the piss out of them. They did make me laugh when they sang”champions of England you’ll never sing that” though!

To be fair I think it's pretty difficult to get on board with the "develop players to sell to other clubs, just try not to get relegated" plan.
Just what kind of fan can shout about becoming the next Crewe Alexandra?

Who knew this was the journey destination 🤦‍♂️

I was only thinking back to the last time I saw this fixture live at Ewood way back in 2014.
We gave it a right good go and it was a right good 1-1 game against a Leicester side top of the league with someone called Vardy scoring for them.

Sad to see that almost a decade later there has been a massive regression on our part while Leicester picked up a Premier League title and played in Europe.
For all the "best team we played against" comments they didn't need to get out of 2nd gear and still slaughtered us whilst absolutely gifting us a goal.

One game against a team in last seasons prem and with a massive wage bill should not be the criteria to judge a championship outfit. Vardy for example is or perhaps was on 150kpw. Speaking of which we made them look ordinary last season.
best way to look at this perhaps is to recall the Fulham aberration, after which we climbed to 2nd in the table in a matter of weeks.
