Bloody embarrassment in front of the owners representatives too! The players gave up finding space and running for each other in that last half hour. Rotherham's tactics of lumping it into the box from crosses, corners and long throws almost overcame our failing pass and move game.

Shows how quickly things change, and why Tomasson would have jumped at the chance of Leicester City in summer had he been offered it, yet he's stuck here fumbling around for a result with "dominating" Football Manager football.

I'm convinced that the whole ethos of the club - "attractive, project-based" football - is down to whoever is selling that idea to the owners, and the owners just tick it off as a "sounds good" thing. As with 13 years ago, they haven't got a clue about football and how it works. This "attractive football" ethos is just idealistic and isn't working because we simply haven't got the resources, other than glimmers of academy players showing their talent. I think we tried it under Mowbray for a season or two, and we ended up regressing to 15th (the post-COVID season).

Rovers want this particular identity. It won't see us get promoted, but it might see us continue as we are - a mid-table Championship side with an outside chance of the play-offs. You could argue that ain't bad, but how long will Venkys continue subsiding the club to the tune of millions per year that way?

There's not enough of a mixture of play to us. We are too predictable, and I think we are operated by Football Manager types.

Did someone spike Pickerings pre match drink? He’s been everywhere.
Looked like they'd all been on the piss last night mid way through the 2nd half.

I saw it a couple of times, but other times, Eaves was aerially superior and, ultimately, won a point for his battling side. Their 'keeper, Johansson, also won that point for his side.

We are too predictable to play against. Let us have the ball, huff and puff and play well, and just get us with a counter or a set-piece. Tomasson's football has been sussed out. The problem is that I don't think we have the personnel for Tomasson to even plug those holes. We may have one or two battling midfielders, but in defence and goalkeeping, we are piss-weak and can be bullied by virtually every side in the league on that score.

Heard a whisper that Travis and jdt have fallen out. Certainly looking like somethings gone on which has weakened the managers influence over the players. Anybody else heard anything?

I think that's been going on for a while if rumours are to be believed. I have read quite a few people saying "spoke to Travis, he's not happy with Tomasson" type posts.

With the new Director and Venky's representatives attending the Hull City game and today's game, do you think it's game over for Tomasson in your opinion?

Tomasson has looked completely beleaguered over the last month. I don't like to see anybody looking that way, but he looks like he's given up and isn't enjoying what is unfolding at the club.

I almost felt as though there was an impetus from the players today. They really fought hard and worked hard, but it "didn't work". Tomasson has been here for a year and a half and, despite our transfer window cock-ups, has a decent Championship squad and a top-grade academy at this disposal. As the fourth-longest serving manager, is it fair to say that his football isn't working after a year and a half of trying it?

I heard the same and that Travis has been sidelined for telling JDT a few home truths.

Well im firmly behind JDT he has got us playing some great football .We have had injurys but every team has them.He has been let down by whoever is in charge of recruitment. Two forwards signed who are bang average at best.We have a keeper who could not catch a cold.I think he needs to play Hilton on Saturday. If we fired JDT division three will be calling.

They have been carrying out a “forensic examination“ of all the Club’s assets.

Great football is always trumped by winning football.
Tomasson has been found wanting recently, I know that we have a horrific injury list but noywithstanding that we 'overplay' around the opponents area far too much, our outfield has too many players with no defensive steel in their bodies, we have a gk who can be a liability with his ridiculous double handed punching, we have a defence that commendably like to pass out but who do it too much to the point of stupidity when sometimes it's safety first to hit Row Z. All in all he seems to have lost the dressing room with his tactics and if I were to make a guess I'd say he's on his way out.

Sad if that’s the case BB and since he’s not been called on the past 2 games does suggest a breakdown. I still have faith in JDT but perhaps other managers have sussed his game plan out. He might need to alter his approach and tactics. I’m not thinking of the playoffs now and I’m sure we won’t go down so for 2024 maybe a Cup run, the acquisition of new players and for Ewood stalwarts a run of wins.

Heard Travis packed his bags in the summer to be honest, seems a rumour which has never gone away. Some on twitter noticed Carter having a prolonged clap and chat with the riverside last night, I must say I didn't see anything unusual myself but I wonder if he's got a move lined up.

We looked okay in swathes last night without being really penetrative, we really need to learn to take more shots at goal as I lost count of times the amount of inane passing around the box and the ball coming of Rotherham legs in the process last night. If you're taking a shot make the keeper work and parry it into a danger zone for a striker to follow up with. The same with a lack of crosses going in, albeit I thought Brittain did well in the first half getting two decent attempts in.

Defesively we are suspect and looks like a big balls up not brining an experienced centre half like Danny Batth in whom we were linked with in the summer before it was refused to be signed of by those tossers in Pune. Hill is too small to play CB for me, needs putting out at RB if we are playing against target men, thought he had a really decent drive a few times up the pitch like Carter.

Leo 3 - Looks nervous, clearly targeted, reminded me of the Pears vs Wigan game in which the same manager Richardson made sure it was targeted of every set piece. Lacks concentration as shown by Rathbone's cross bar effort.

Brittain 6 - A decent first half but dropped of in the second half, he lacks a footballing brain of where to go and move next and position himself.

Hill 5 - Average game from him, too easily beaten for the 2nd equaliser. Great run though for the Schmozza goal.

Carter 7 - Decent and was a real good performance from him.

Pickering 6 - Would have been a 7 but the second half seemed to overwhelm him a little, needs to work on crossing the ball in to the box more effectively. Good Effort on goal, that was going in without the world class save.

Tronstad 6.5 - Good player, seems to think of what will happen next and puts himself in the right positions. Decent footballing brain.

A Wharton 6 - Better of the ball than recently but seemed to lack some drive yesterday, another one who I think with his technique should be working on set pieces delivery.

Moran 5 - Waste of time, the odd flash here and now but seems to come inside to much for me and isn't a proper winger.

Schmozza 6 - Below his usual levels, gassed around 70 mins where he couldn't run anymore. Decent finish, lot of stray balls though. Body language wasn't great either berating his fellow players.

Sigurdsson 6.5 - Took his goal really well and unlucky not to have notched a second. Lacks a bit of drive and running with the ball for me though, super first touch but I couldn't tell you what his main strengths are.

Telalovic 6.5 - Ran the channels really well I thought, gave us a prescience with his physicalllness and dropped deep to win the ball back a few times. Strange to bring him off so early for Ennis.

Markanday 4 - Terrible sub, killed momentum, he has a lovely touch on him but doesn't run forwards, doesn't get his head up early enough to spot the runners either.

Ennis 4 - Poor, he could use his physical build to become a Jason Roberts type player but he looks poor. Not enough effort in him.

Defensively we have a big problem with high balls whether it be from corners, free kicks, long throws or crosses and it’s probably because nobody has any faith in the keeper He flaps at them and never catches them. I think we will see fewer lete goal’s when Pears returns
