No one in "our" Government has the bottle to do that
I knew a local lad who'd been educated in an increasingly muslim majority school and had cultivated a certain resentment towards our islamic cousins as a result. He had ended up in prison over a serious but unintentional motoring offence. He ended up working in the prison canteen and used to mix halal and non halal meat up intentionally. Now I can't say for sure but to the best of my knowledge no one became mortally sick and no one was struck down by a lightning bolt either.

As more and more illegals are entering the UK by coming across the channel in inflatable boats a reminder that they need to be picked up and returned to France (preferably) the med coastline. Their mates will then be deterred from attempting the same crossing. Currently we 'process' them and allow them to stay which can only encourage others to emulate them. Surely that isn't difficult to grasp by the govt is it?

The ECONOMIC MIGRANTS are presumably being told by the smugglers that when the UK leaves the EU, they won't be able to get in. That was certainly my intention for leaving the whole time, but I'm disappointed to see they're now coming across anyway. I thought our island position and the fact they have to come through the rest of Europe would be enough to put them off once we got out. But of course they want to live here rather than France and Germany, here they get more free stuff.
The only thing we can do now is what I wanted the EU to do 4 years ago (and I would have voted Remain if they'd actually done it). Patrol the waters and turn them back or let them sink. Sounds harsh but its the only way, our authorities know of 221 that have come across in the last 2 months, who knows what the actual figure is, could be 2,221. This could continue indefinitely or even worse speed up.

It's funny how this is happening in the run up to the second referendum decision. Remember how the jungle in Coquelles was on the news everyday in the run up to the Brexit vote but disappeared almost immediately after?

All they want to do is get here (or the UK) and use the system to stay, without paying, of course.
You do realise that it costs money to "save" these people, who have paid thousands to get to this point.
You, I presume, would welcome an open door to all and sundry, without any security checks, even after the atrocities that your country has endured of the last few years.
You really need to think about what you want.
Edit: What are you going to say or do when the first load die at sea? Are you going to blame Border Patrol for not doing enough or are you going to blame the people smugglers for putting these people in that position?

That is key. As I said when the first wave left Libya and ended up in Italy years ago. They should have been towed back to the coast of Libya left on the beach with a few pallets of corned beef / spam, bottled water, fully charged phones and left watching as the rescue ship sank their boats 300 yards off shore. They'd have phoned home telling their mates and kin that they had failed were stony broke and countless thousand men, women and children would have been discouraged from following. 18000 of whom would be alive today instead of feeding the fish as a direct result of Merkal encouraging them to make the trip. Western Europe's politicians have let their people down, have the blood on their hands and been entirely responsible for thousand upon thousand of African deaths, and I have no idea why! I would like some of them to publicly explain the motivation for their actions for sure.
