“Hark the Herald Angels sing
The Burnley ran away
We will sing for ever more
Because of Boxing Day”

I am getting well and truly into the Christmas spirit (vodka, gin, whisky and rum) and this will start on Saturday when our first game of December brings us 3 points at Wednesday. Mind you I should not get too giddy as we have history of f’ing up against lowly teams; that 1-2 defeat against Plastic Preston a couple of weeks ago is a great example.

I have arranged to meet my heroine Anne Widdecombe for a couple of pints in the Dog and Whistle prior to the game. She really is one of the common people unlike some of the other toffs in her party. She kindly sent me a handful of images to share with you as part of her election campaign for Chair of the Conservative Blue Rinse Brigade Stockton North Branch. We are so so lucky to have such a stonking good politician and well known superstar watching Rovers home and away…..and then we also have Anne💋

Love n kisses
BB 😘

PS. 4-0 to Wovers 🔵⚪

1-3 a fifth away victory on the run for the Mighty Rovers. The Wendy’s are dreadful.

Obviously Buckley won’t be playing on Saturday but I can’t understand the situation with him there. He’s not in the team which is struggling at the bottom with relegation highly probable.
Would we like him back in January? Tony Mowbray always saw him as a future Premiership player and I do rate him but JDT doesn’t seem to.
If Adam Wharton has to leave in January then Buckley could be a useful replacement if no money is available to buy anyone.

Correct Tony. Mowbray played Buckley as an attacking midfielder whereas JDT seemed to want him to play deeper. I do wonder sometimes about JDT's judgement because he's been playing Trav in an advanced role and he isn't (imo) a good enough 'footballer' for that position.

Every match in the Championship can be a banana skin. That's why I love being in it.

Wednesday were a regular in the Premier in it's early days and had some top players. Waddle, Hirst and Sheridan immediately come to mind and in some ways it's sad to see a club like this struggling for too long. I don't think anyone would argue with the fact they're a much bigger club than the Rovers and have had it far worse than us in the last few years and are a prime example of how things could be a lot worse for us than they are or, more accurately, how they have been.

On The match Saturday, I'd be lying if I said I knew too much about their side, so by just going off their league position it should be a straight forward win for us, but things rarely work out like that in this league and their late equaliser last night could be very significant in how their mindset is going into the game.

2-1 Rovers.

Interestingly if clicking onto home form we are one place above Wednesday and 3rd from bottom!
Swansea, Preston, Hull, and Sunderland have turned us over at home. That's quite an irritating set of clubs to be losing against at home. Leicester are the other club which can be more easily forgiven.

The flip side is that we have been quite terrific on the road, which I suspect is in no small part due to our excellent away following.

A following of well over 2,000 today.

Sadly I can’t go. A day at the shops in Middlebrook, Horwich beckons 🤮
