So Dave, you think it’s acceptable that a white PC who is often the subject of malicious racist allegations should just turn the other cheek when the situation is reversed? Most of the time these false accusations are encouraged by the defending solicitor to facilitate a plea bargain at a later stage or even to have charges dismissed?

How about using a modicum of common sense.
She was probably "under the weather" by the sound of it.
She's a five foot nothing girl, it's not as though she's going to take the copper apart.
Take her down to the station, shove her in a sobering up room till she's sober and let her go with a slap on the wrist, and an apology to those that "helped" her.
That way, no solicitors/lawyers or magistrates involved, just one female footballer left feeling embarrassed

Neither being partly black or short is a defence for breaking the law. Anyway if you arrest someone you dont leave them in a sobering up room, it's a cell. Then a decision is made as to whether you should be charged which I would expect involve the CPS.

ODB, years ago in Sydney, a very high profile sportsperson got smashed on a night out.
It was reported a taxi driver found him (in the gutter, I think) and tried to find out where he lived. He was that drunk he could hardly speak. So the taxi driver put him in his cab, took him to the local nick who put him in a cell til he sobered up. The coppers let him out, called a cab and sent him on his way.
This tells me something about both aussie cab drivers and aussie coppers and the difference with their UK counterparts.

Look at what will happen now, She's charged, multiple bit of paper to fill in, solicitors/Lawyers employed on both sides. Court time taken up, when the courts are already overloaded. The copper taken off his duties for some time to handle this. All for, what I would call a misdemeanor.
Really, are your coppers that thin skinned?

ODB, the point is, don't arrest them, it saves a lot of time across the system. The embarrassment alone would have been sufficient punishment along with what her football club will mete out to her for bringing the game into disrepute.

It's a consequence of the less forgiving attitudes prevalent in the uk at the moment. Accusations of racism are the fall back of the left and of various dark skinned immigrants and their descendants, in levelling up this incident is a natural consequence. The authorities have dug a big hole for themselves and can't get out of it.

A racially aggravated offence was committed. If it was a lefty Hamas supporter on a March in London who said that to a Police Officer should it have been let go?

Talks cheap and especially when behind a keyboard. All this hoo hah about calling Diane Abbott like he did wasn't the best move by Frank Hester but I applaud him. Honest people in politics are as rare as hens teeth! The only person who could say that Diane Abbott is attractive is possibly David Blunkett. Anyway people in glass houses as they say and Abbott is famous for saying West Indian mothers make better parents than white mothers.
