It disgusts me to read this. Pigs in the trough come to mind as Corbyn’s union mate rips off his members, gets given a property by his union, gets rich and buys property in Cuba.

Disgusting. What do you think Ben?

In my working life I’ve had lots of encounters with these type of full time Trade Union officials - real working class heroes, one and all . One was at a very senior level in Unite ( formally T&G ) He took his final salary pension & voluntary enhanced redundancy ( massive lump sum ) at 57 . He lives in a big converted farm house and now has a sinecure doing a bit of consultancy to top up his pension & fund his luxurious lifestyle . Me and my ex boss used to joke “ if only the members knew “

He’s just one example , I’ve come across many more and all funded by their low paid members hard graft in the factories and other workplaces . They are no different than the fat cat bankers - but in addition just massive hypocrites .

This doesn’t bother BenJimJohn though His type , the pseudo intelligentsia who think having a skinny latte at a coffee bar in Manchester ( served by some smiling low paid Bulgarian) or skiing on the piste for couple of weeks a year makes them all European and ‘ progressive ‘ . They live in the leafy suberbs , virtue signalling , telling everyone who disagrees with them that they’re racist & xenophobic , but making sure they keep well away from the migrants they want to welcome .

Hypocrites one and all

From that article, the following comment was made:

John C. 17 hours ago

It is important to remember with Corbyn that during around thirty years in the House of Commons he was not offered a single ministerial position, not even a shadow one. They knew him. He has never had any responsibility as is demonstrated by the speed with which he becomes rattled under pressure.

Unfortunately many people will criticise the Mail for running a 'racist' story rather than put any blame on the abhorrent Pakistani muslims who perpetrate these crimes. Why are these people even here? (Cue some fecker no doubt stating that we need uneducated taxi drivers and kebab shop owners or else the NHS will crumble).
Castration and then deportation being my chosen punishment. I wonder if Allah will allow them in with their bollocks in a bag.

Bollocks in a bag, I think that is on the menu in some of our local takeaways

Why are unassimilated immigrants allowed to vote? This has always confused me, in both our countries. If I move to the UK, should I be allowed to try to change the culture of the UK by casting a vote? I don’t think so. The UK is not my country even if I live and work there, even if I love your soccer and beer, and even if I want you to do well (which I do). And if I became a citizen for financial and legal reasons, does that piece of paper make me British even if my world view has not shifted an inch?

Any comments from the #metoo , Time’s Up or the Women’s Equality Party ?

Nope , as usual girls / women’s rights stop at the doorstep of Islam
It’s not about the equal rights of women, or even their safety and welfare. It’s about political power. So long as they can use words to bamboozle women, and women ignore the reality, they will reap dividends for their hypocrisy and nothing will change.

Was just about to say that. Hell on earth for female kids in a 1st world country. Where are the army of perpetually offended feminists? Are they charging over the hill to tackle this? I'm sure they must be...any minute now...oh no cancel that, a white male has said something mildly inappropriate!

Darrusalam Education Centre, Whalley New Road, Blackburn. Men only in the main entrance of course.

The article states her report highlighted the plight of women in some Muslim communities, who she said were less likely to speak English and more likely to be kept at home.

"Misogyny and patriarchy has to come to an end," Dame Louise said, adding that public institutions must not fear being branded racist or Islamophobic.

Living and working in Blackburn , day to day evidence shows there isn’t a chance of Dame Louise’s wishes coming to fruition . More Islamic all girls schools , more education centres & more Madrassas shows that Muslim men are doing their best to make sure misogyny and patriarchy will become a way of life for many of the next generation of Muslim girls

Sounds a similar background to me!! I was a National Union Official but not in Unite thank goodness (many of our members earned far more than me: air traffic control, nuclear engineers etc) except I did not get a pay out and our pension was twice changed, by agreement, for the worse.

I did a bloody good job and had sheaves of thank you letters and emails. We were not affiliated to any party and I recognised it was important to be politically impartial although after years of exposure to Labour politicians and the looney left I was happy to be ‘Red Tory’ as opposed to ‘Blue Labour’. The left are the biggest hypocrites going.

I could never vote for Labour under Corbyn and his ilk. Many many years ago (I did 43 years employment) my first and best Shop Steward was a card carrying Tory Party member and represented us in the maintenance department at Farrington Foundry, a good mate of mine is also a true blue Tory and GMB steward in the chemical sector. What most union leaders forget is that union members do not want disputes and political warfare; they want to pay off their mortgage, clear bills, have nice holidays, and strive for a second home.......recognising this is probably why I stuck out like a sore thumb compared to colleagues, and it is probably why I was respected for doing my job.

Interestingly Unite carried out a major anonymous survey of members and how they intended to vote. Voting conservative came out on top at nearly 50%........the survey was never published and was buried.

I also have an employment consultancy and am proud to say a number of my best friends are, or were, HR directors.

Great post BB and agree wholeheartedly. Yes we are in a similar line of work , my background more employer based than employee but what you say about the aspirations of individual members is spot on . I've also come across some sound TU officials too .
