Would have been as little as a century ago. Just musing but just think one good man with one of those back in the day would have driven the Romans, the Vikings and the Normans back into the sea and British history would have been re-written.

Disrespect the stars and stripes and the star spangled banner over there at your peril. Looks like his career and his megabucks income is going right down the pan. It's not like he can make as much money playing american football anywhere else is it? A clear case of act in haste repent at leisure. Rather surprised that a greedy grabbing megabucks outfit like nike has been sucked in. Pretty certain their advertising company has put it's head on the block here too. No doubt the chief exec will be getting a call from the oval office before long.

Was just going to post this, #justburnit seems a bit daft when you have already paid for the dam things. Drove past a few large factories on holiday, not sure if they were Nike or not but I can't imagine the working rights and standards are that high in them never mind the wages. Perhaps he would like to protest about that. Let's wait till our US poster has a few comments. This is the guy with the police pig socks I believe.

Nike value already down 3%. There will be some very unhappy shareholders if that trend continues.

Right-wing America vs. Colin Kapernick has been rumbling on for well over a year now. I'm pretty sure Nike did all kinds of calculations before signing him up for the deal and they knew precisely what they were letting themselves in for.

800 tweets and burning shoes vs. millions and millions of eyes on the actual campaign. After the inevitible backlash and a dip in shareprice due to some skittish investors, I have a feeling Nike will be more than fine.

Meanwhile somewhere out there, some idiot has a burnt patch on his lawn, a stinking hangover, and the nagging regret that, as a 'patriot', he should have donated those shoes to someone who needed them.

I got the Aussie equivalent last May/June and tomorrow I head off to get a cancerous tumor removed. I caught mine early so I hope I don't need any chemo or the like (fingers crossed).
So I reckon it's saved my life or at least some pretty awful treatment.

Many do ignore it Drog.
I also had an ultrasound and CT scan on my abdomen. All was OK except for a bit of a cyst on my liver that was nothing to worry about. Everything else was OK. No liver or kidney damage, which surprised me, given the fact that I've kept many a brewery and vineyard in profit over the years!
