I’m more familiar with Basil Brush than some of the managers mentioned in this thread . I guess apart from the Rovers , it’s my lack of interest in football that’s to blame for that .
We’ve had a decent manager , the best since Big Sam , for five years . He tried to play the right way , brought on and developed academy players and created a team spirit , a band of brothers. Most of all he remade Rovers into a normal football club . I’d argue he’s a decent bloke , with decent values and in the end his treatment by the men in suits left a lot to be desired .
My first choice as his replacement would be Big Sam , but he wouldn’t come back . So which managers can we afford who play that style ? A physical , aggressive, pragmatic game , a game that frightens other teams to death and would make Ewood a fortress . I loved watching Sheffield Utd destroy QPR with that type of football . Do Luton and Millwall have a similar style ?
The first , second and third priority for Rovers is to win . I don’t give two hoots if they entertain me . I can watch Netflix or Amazon Prime for that .
However as Steve says it’s pointless speculation. Although the owners keep us afloat they’re impossible to second guess . Who , Why and When - it’s in the lap of the gods
