In today's LT, its appears that Venus, Lowe, Benson and Johnson are all still under contract but our head of medical services Andrew Mitchell is leaving for Red Bull Leipzig. Another physio has left for Manchester United woman team and Liam Mason, Blackburn Rovers' head of athletic performance, is set to join Newcastle United as the exodus of staff from Ewood Park continues. .

What I would love to know is - have we attempted to keep them? (always assuming they are worth retaining)
I find it hard to believe Man Utd women's team set up can pay as much as us?

If the manager and CEO know they are being "potted" at the end of the season they wouldn't have any reason to bust a gut trying to keep good staff?
or push for promotion
or encourage players to sign new deals
or even make reasonable offers
or increase season ticket prices
or not doing pitch improvements
or trying to sell half a training academy - we couldn't possibly have retained cat1 status
or let the stadium crumble (at the reserve game last week I was SHOCKED at the state of the concrete stairs up to the seats - badly crumbling - and IMO not far off a serious H&S issue)

I know its a bit "conspiracy theory" but some people are quite vengeful and could be taking great delight in leaving an almost unpreparable mess both on and off the pitch whilst still ticking boxes

Keep who? Procter and Mason are moving to bigger club than us.

Clearly he wanted to go the Man Utd women's team.

Well how it usually works
Im leaving!
why?
More money/better prospects/nearer home

Then if they are shit you wish them all the best
But if you rate them and want them to stay

Can we talk? better deal? Longer contract etc

Did we attempt to retain them? Or are we just happy to let all our best people leave. Leipzig might be a promotion but it is also a life changing move especially if he is married with kids

Of course moving to Newcastle and Leipzig is a promotion and life changing. Rovers can't match them into terms of wages. Been realistic

Not just about wags though as Steve says location, working patterns, autonomy, future growth.

What's to say they could have been internally promoted to head of xyz department etc?

Andrew Proctor is already head of medical services and Liam Mason was our fitness coach so what internally promotion could they have got?

Both have moved to bigger clubs than Rovers. good luck to both

Man Utd Womens physio? Just wasted money by Man U......... I'd give em a daily rub down for nowt.:p

However if he is good at a job then he'll be eyeing the first teams position. Plus he sounds muslim and if so Man utd is their club isn't it?

Don't get me started on women's football!!
The BBC site gives them headline space - you look and see Chelsea are 6 up at H/T - then realise its women's (competitive/equal to men's game) scores

I've honestly tried to watch it but it leaves me completely cold. Same with woman's rugby.

I think I could watch it if they stopped trying to convince us its of similar quality to proper football
How can you have 90mins live on TV (cheap TV) with score lines of 10 -0 / 20 -0 etc
I cannot be bothered watching the mens team play San Marino etc and they only finish up as 5 or 6 nil

Out of the current bookies odds, Farke might be decent, rest of them unimpressive. Even Farke is uncertain given he's only ever managed in this league with very good resources.

If Mowbray had gone last summer and someone had said to me the new manager will have us challenging for automatic promotion/play-offs, after losing Armstrong and being given no money to replace him, I'd have said great appointment.

For the life of me I can't understand what's going on. This season is the current high point of 5 years of improvement (if stuttering) under Mowbray, from a League 1 side when he took over. I can't believe the owners want him gone, I can't believe the fans do.

This is eerily similar to the Allardyce fiasco and, like then, I wouldn't be surprised to see us relegated within 2 seasons. And again I'm sure it'll be all about who we appointed, rather than who we let go.

All these guys leaving are positions that were never heard of before the premier jobs for boys I'd say. Before you had a manager ,assistant manager, a few scouts and a bloody groundsman.

I've thought that waggy. Most of those positions imo could be done by the same person. I have to wonder if having people in those positions is a requirement of cat 1 academy status?

It leaves me wondering too tbh. Maybe his agent has put in a starting point for negotiations of a new contract that the venkys deem too high?

Farke rebuild the Norwich team by selling James Maddison and other players. In his first season, he spend 13 million pounds, signing 17 players in that season whilst selling players for just over 30 million pounds, then his second season where he achieved promotion he spent just below 5 million pounds, signing 10 players whilst selling players for around 33 million pounds. So that's 18 million pounds on transfer ins whilst bringing in 63 million pounds on transfer outs. So he has had sell key players like James Maddison, Josh Murphy, Jacob Murphy and Alex Pritchard. Then bringing in cheaper replacements from overseas.

So would you say that very good resources or managing the club properly and financial correct

here is his first season of transfer ins and outs Norwich City - Transfers 17/18 | Transfermarkt
Here is his second season of transfer ins and outs Norwich City - Transfers 18/19 | Transfermarkt
