I thought he was planning retirement and only took the Sunderland job as it was relatively nearby. Clearly the new owners at big club must be paying him a lot of money. Either that or his wife doesn’t want him around too much. 😂
It could well be that. Family are okay until you have to spend all day and night at home with them.

Mowbray's credibility continues to rise as Sunderland's performances slump. https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/20...archy-have-themselves-to-blame?_gl=1*1dnehg2*

That's rovers, Sunderland and Birmingham that have screwed up by sacking good managers for no good reason. Serves em right too as two of the above are serial offenders!
Never before have football managers been under so much scrutiny these days from social media. 7 games in and Beale is already being hounded by a fan who’s speaking for all Sunderland fans?
I always liked Tony Mowbray and he got them into the playoffs. He’s now at Birmingham and I think it’s a good fit there.
It’ll be interesting to compare JDT v Tony Mowbray for the rest of the season.

Mowbray wasn't sacked at Rovers. The club obviously felt the end of his contract was a time for change.

A shame that a lot of our so-called supporters felt the need to verbally abuse Mowbray and accuse him of being a parasite after five and a half good years at the club. The same ones that said we were heading to the conference and into administration after Coyle are probably the same ones that feel Mowbray, who saved our skins and Lord knows what other "taking out the bins" jobs he did under the radar, was a villain preventing us from winning the Premier League again.

Fucking Hell!!
Nobody insulted Mowbray... a lot of the fan base felt like he wasnt up to the job anymore (me included) If he had shown a bit of humility and changed things around (like 95% of the fan base could see we needed too) I could have lived with him staying
Most (well everyone I know) thinks he did an ok job OVERALL and he left with no bad blood......not every relationship works for ever and nowhere is that truer than football

I meant to say so-called online supporters. You know where they dwell.

People forgetting Mowbrays streaky patches? Guy went 14 games without a win at one point.

People have a bit of rose tinted glasses when looking back at Mowbray. He wanted out by the end.

That's surely because of the silence from Pune over the previous 6 months when contract negotiations should have been taking place.

He had five years let’s remember, most don’t get that long. He had taken us as far as he could.

We'll never know now will we? No one could foresee the financial shit that we are in currently but his Academy kids were all coming through but were a little young.

He wouldn’t have played all the academy players that JDT has done. As I’ve mentioned before I understand TM barely visited the academy having no interest.

Opposite to what I've heard. Anyway I believe he would have played them. Lets be honest he bought SG and BBD when they were very young, plus he sent out very young teams at Sland. Kids turn into men at that age at varying stages also would JDT have played so many without the injuries that we've had? I doubt it for sure.
