Sounds like Rovers did their best to sign Reed but Fulham’s offer blew ours out of the water .

If the rumours are true , Mulgrew ‘s loan move to Wigan is bitter sweet . I’ll always appreciate the fact that he stayed at the Rovers after relegation and helped as an inspirational captain in getting us back to the Championship . He is a class player . However he’s not my type of centre half . A little slow , poor in the air and in this league doesn’t lead the back four . On the other hand he’s almost Bobby ‘ Mooresque ‘ on the ball and a superb dead ball specialist . Wigan fans think he might be the final piece in the jigsaw for a top six push

The new left back Craig Cunningham . Haven’t a clue about what he offers but I hope he can defend . PNE fans are a bit naffed off that Rovers have got him . Just give me a proper left full back, Rovers haven’t had one for yonks.

So the best defence Rovers can field is now ( in my humble opinion ) 5 from Walton , Nyambe, Tosin , Lenihan , Williams and Cunningham. Hope it’s good enough to keep us in the league !

Anyway I'd be OK if my opposite number was either of these fellas..........

btw anyone hoping to be pictured with Micheal Jackson will be disappointed. The statue that makes that bust of Ronaldo look like it was hewn by Michael Angelo was removed two years later and given to the National Football museum. Not surprisingly they've binned it since too .

My only rational is that he has gone so that we can pay this City kids wages.
But as you say - Captain last Saturday - loaned out Thu!! Bizzare

Me neither. Maybe Mowbray had informed him that he was making someone else team Captain (something which I tend to agree with). It's not like we are overburdened with centre halves after loaning out two of the young guns. We are now more exposed to injuries and suspensions in that key area than I can ever remember. Just as important where are we going to replace the threat and goals from his free kicks and his unquestionable penalty spot mind set?

As an aside I rather thought that Mowbray's 'new' way of playing might have found room for Mulgrew playing in his natural deep midfield position in a Cluade Makalele / Tugay type role. I can only think now that there must surely have been a major fall out.

I tend to agree with that. I've always seen him as a quarterback type and would like to see him play there.

Evans didn't look the slightest bit interested tonight whilst Smallwood was energetic but looked limited.

From what i remenber he was half decent at spurs.A half decent spur may be a fine footballer in the chumpionship.
